You can look at Q&A sites but that is often a long search and doesn't bring up to much helpful topics based on my own experience from searching there.

There's in fact a much more efficient way imo.

Look for negative reviews!!!

Especially on Amazon it's extreme easy to find negative reviews and there you have all their pains summed up for you and ready to address in your review / sales copy.

    Great tip!

I use Yahoo Answers for it. Another way to get a feel for your target audience is to hang out where they hang out: forums, groups, blog comments.

    Yes, and...

    - Discussion forums in relevant niche
    - Top blogs and blog comments in top blogs around niche
    - Reverse engineer top selling books (what questions are they answering, what desires are they targeting) and articles in top selling magazines around your niche
    - If you already have content on your website, don't forget to look at your own analytics - they will tell you the content that is accessed the most, search keywords people are using to find your content and often, the time spent on specific sites and pages

Sounds like a ton more work but I see where you're getting from.

For me it's a quick solution for Amazon affiliate review sites that I don't want to spend too much time on. You can just click on a product and click on the 1 star ratings and in no time you find it all summarized for you instead of having to look up tons of sources, but yeah for a site that you plan to spend a lot of money and effort on your suggestions can definitely be worth it.
