Forum falls, fiverr fails, facebook follies...

What is going on? One might ask.

My opinion, is you are bearing witness to some Internet Marketing corrections. Just as the real stock market has to make them, perhaps, so does IM.

Buzz has Freelancer WF falling down on Alexa rankings, losing members, and some grumbling about new owners. Is it just a temporary correction in the WF market place?

I think so. The new WF, projected 2 years down the road will be better than the old WF ever was for the masses wanting to get into IM.

Fiverr not responding? New sites will spring up, there is competition in the for hire fields, which is why Freelancer bought the WF in the first place.

Facebook? Ohh, blowback on privacy issues? Too much selling? Typical MATURE company shakeout.

Will they go the way of AOL, MySpace? Doubtful, but with all market corrections, there is an opportunity for a few savvy Entrepreneurs.

NOW might be the best time to accelerate your IM projects, catch the wave of the future, get in on the ground floor of tomorrow.

AOL dominated online services, now, they have a hard time giving their product away for free.

So, as you see by the forum posts, growing dissatisfaction with any given service or web site, THINK to yourself, is there a problem here and how can I help, or become part of the solution?

YOU may be the next google, yahoo, facebook or compuserve?

Opportunities galore exists in the dissatisfied customers of the giants.

Alexa rank is dropping like a rock now. I do wonder on what is going wrong. Don't think it is the new owners. Also, there are a lot less users. Here is something else that is scary. Lots of FREE WSO offers and few takers! Got a really bad feeling on this one. Those reports use to cost $7 a pop a few years ago. Sadly, we cannot even give em away.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

People will still pay for services, products, or for information that they want.

If you have a service, product, or info product that people can be interested in, you'll make money.

It's not rocket science, but it does take work.

    And that will never change...

The reason viewership of this site is declining is because people are favoring social networking over forums. All of the top marketers that used to make this forum what it was back in the day are now all interacting over on Facebook instead. I prefer it over there as well. I don't visit this forum anywhere near as much as I used to. Just no reason to anymore. It seems to have lost a lot of it's draw.

"Top marketers"??? More like the top get rich quick scammers. This forum is a better place with them gone.

They stick to Facebook now because they have greater control over their "guru" personas. They can start deleting messages when things get sticky for them. WarriorForum isn't the offical green zone for get rich quick scammers anymore. Facebook is. That's what it boils down to.

IMO this forum needs to ban the mention of their names entirely. Just replace it with ***** **** like it's a swear word. There are too many slow members of this forum who still don't get it and continue to look up to these get rich quick shysters and drop their names into threads.

      Gordon,

Your post reminds me that businesses with staying power are not dependent upon one platform, one income stream, one source of traffic, or one anything. If your business depends solely (or even mostly) on Google, Facebook, Fiverr, or any other single entity, you don't have the control you need to function autonomously. You have a business built on a foundation of sand. Sometimes that will get you through the calm, but when the wind blows and waves crash, so will your business.

Folks often forget that the Internet is a delivery tool. it's a vehicle for getting your message out. A sound and solid business will be based on certain methods and systems that can be transferred, adapted, and modified when change comes or when technologies disrupt the current order of things.

Basic business, as has always been the case, is still about selling into demand and satisfying customer desires.

business lasts more than 4 hours, see a doctor (or guru).

Yes, we've seen here many times, build on Google algorithms, get busted out of business.

And basic biz, selling to demand, is really all you need to know, you just need to keep up with WHAT that demand is.

Super Biz, is having the Toll Booth between unlimited demand...and the supply.
