i want to build a technology website and update with fresh content to increase my visitors to 1 million page views in 6 month and earn Stable $10000 - 20k per month from advertising + affiliate .

but due to my bad experience in the past and waste alot of money on SEO, advertising , design and choose wrong niche so i made loss... for start a new website i have serious questions below:

1- what niche is the most profitable ? .. i mean with which niche i can get traffic easier and faster and can sell affiliate and advertising ? technology or game or music or public news ? [ i will hire writers so there is no difference for me to choose which niche ]

2- i really want to know how top blogs can have stable traffic ? is update site with unique content enough ? i want to focuse in content writing instead of investing in SEO and PPC advertising.

really need your experience as this is my last chance to invest .

I suggest you start by looking here:

    10 Best Tech Blogs - InsideTech.com

    Or gogle top technology blogs.

Use builtwith.com to see what software and tech the sites are running.

Create a clear design in your head what you want your site to look like and get it done. Hire a good writer and start posting. Build your social following using paid ads twitter and facebook.

I would also suggest using Taboola and other paid advertising to get traffic and if you have good content it will start to be shared, your reader base will keep coming back for more.

Study the top sites and its pretty easy to see what users want.

For something that may drive you forward have a look here:

Likelihood of you achieving a goal in achieving 1million visitors a month from start-up site in a short space of time is very remote. That is unless you are getting traffic from junk sites.

I would set your goals at a lower level and seek to build a long term sustainable website.

Invest your money in quality article content that will bring in longer term visitor traffic

I'll steer you in the right direction.

To be completely frank, it would take me a week to give you the full answer. I'll give you one possible direction to follow. You can perhaps then use it as a jumping-off point for research.

Niche: Investigate what people share the most.

Traffic: Implement a system to encourage social engagement.

    Key phrase: Viral marketing.

    You have completely un-realistic goals.

Set small achievable goals and you have a much better chance of reaching them.

It's not necessarily the biggest technology niches which are the most profitable. There are a lot of niches in the B2B technology services which can from the basis of a very profitable site with high returns! A Site with even just 10K a month can earn very good revenue.

I would not necessarily look for "top blogs" , which tend to be generalist for more specialist technology blogs, and if you have some insight into any technologies even better. High quality content will be the best way to build up such a site, over the long term. The size will need to at be at least 500 pages, which will gradually increase.

It's worth starting smaller, getting something working, and then expanding it over time. Reason is, it's worth vetting an idea before throwing all of your money at it. Your better off spending some time researching and qualifying your options first. Then, select the one most likely to succeed for the least cost and the lowest risk ... then test it out. If it goes well, invest more.

This approach allows you to make sound investments. Throwing your money at the first thing you think of could be thought of as similar to walking up the roulette wheel at a casino, emptying your bank account onto the table, and letting it all ride on a single toss.

If you're not sure how to do that kind of research, it's worth learning how first. It may take a bit of time to do so, but it will save you a lot of lost money and heart ache overall. While also making you far more money in the long run.

Wow that's great goals but the questions is if your expectations are to big? I would do a proper research before I would start a project this big. Have a look at the big tech blogs out there. Find out how often they post content. Find out who is reading the blogs. Find out how they monetise their blogs.

Just then would I start to plan your own project. Like all the others said set smaller goals and reach them step by step. What you wanna do is possible but it will take a lot of work from you and you have to be willing to do it.

sounds like you have a lot to learn... don't ask what niche gets easy traffic... ask how to make traffic in your niche easy.. how do you do that? by providing lots of value... what can you provide value on that's better then anything else and easy to get to? find that and you found your nitch to get lots of traffic on.

any content that bring in traffic will likely show up on Google easy eventually, as back links will likely be pointed at that site, you can help that along with updated content, freshness, and good key word optimization.

Not only is SEO not the best way to increase web traffic, but it isn't even among the best ways, for many marketers' purposes. This thread explains some of the many reasons.

"No alternative way"?! Looks we have another contender for the "most ridiculous and least helpful post of the year", here?

      This is utter nonsense.

There are - of course - countless ways, many of which have absolutely nothing to do with SEO at all. If you want to learn something, rather than regurgitating nonsense in order to increase your post-count, this might help you: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ffic-tips.html

I think it depends on people's own skills, mostly - but on a load of other things, too. I don't think there's an objective "best way". There are loads discussed in this thread: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ffic-tips.html

I use article marketing, myself, for my primary generation of targeted traffic, and over many years and many different niches, I've never had such good, responsive, often-opting-in and often-buying traffic from any other source at all. But admittedly that observation perhaps displays my own perspectives and experiences, too, because I started off in IM with "writing skills only".

I do think they're closely related questions, too, because the reality is that some kinds of traffic are far more likely to convert to money than others, when exposed to exactly the same marketing materials and processes.

Undoubtedly one of the reasons for the very high failure-rate in internet marketing is the widespread perception that "traffic" is "something that comes from Google".

For affiliate marketing purposes, I think (putting it mildly, here!) the best way to convert traffic to money is by building trust-based relationships through email marketing.

It's a good traffic-generation plan for some people - it was for me, because I was a writer to start with.

There are other, non-SEO traffic-generation plans, as well.

I think paying for SEO to try to get traffic is a very bad idea, because (a) it's unreliable, (b) it's often temporary, and (c) the traffic's usually no good anyway.

Yes - you need to attract "targeted niche visitors" to your opt-in page, and then earn their respect as a provider of respected information about the niche (not so much about the products) so that people will trust you, and rely on your recommendations (affiliate promotions) when you offer them.

For long term success, you need to build it into a tech site that provides tons of value, continually post interesting and entertaining content, make a youtube channel and make videos regularly to gain a following and get more traffic.

If you are looking to invest some money you need to be advertising, investing in SEO is a risky business long term, unless you are dealing with top quality links from very authoritative sites. I know this because I've had a couple of lucrative sites wiped out by updates in the past. It can work, but I recommend extreme caution with the types of links you get.

Your understanding of the online potential of the web is correct, these things are possible however so is finding buried treasure. Knowing where to look and what to look for are your first concerns. So if you scan the comments listed here you will see that research is your first partner. If you have a hobby or something you love to do or have a high interest in try writing an ebook about it and selling it on amazon. Use diversity as a beginning and observe your own energy levels when researching a field of study, what you are looking for is clarity about multiple fields of growth and how to 'get' in those lanes of activity and growth.

My website reached about 100,000 views in 6 months but this is because I bought traffic from a marketing specialist.

If you buy traffic, then it will be good but you have to spend. You can also do it yourself.

The problem with the OP is that all we hear is "I want", "I want". Sorry, but this is business. Nobody gives a damn what you want. It's what your customers want that's important.

If you want to make $10,000/month in six months or $100,000/month in one month you had better have something compelling to offer your customers.

There's really no secret to this. There are no smoke and mirrors. And there's no push-button path to success. You learn what people want. You figure out how to get it to them better, cheaper or faster than anyone else. You monetize that. Mostly you end up working hard, trying a bunch of things, some of which works and some of which doesn't. You build on your successes and try to minimize your losses.

This model holds true whether you're selling apples, airplanes or advertising. There is no "best" niche. There is no "best" method. It all boils down to what works for you in your situation. So stop looking for the "right" answers and start asking yourself the right questions: "What do people need?" "How can I use my skills, talents and resources most effectively to meet those needs?" "How can I monetize my work?" Unfortunately, nobody can answer those questions but you, so you're actually going to have to start not only thinking for yourself, but you're going to have to start thinking about what other people want instead of just what you want.

Majority of the answers here is SEO and sort of stuff and it is impossible to get that kind of traffic.

Remember ViralNova.com have millions of traffic in its first month alone, with only 2 staff helping doing the posting. So how he'd done it?

The power of Facebook viral marketing and a lot of stuff. Maybe he bought some fan pages with million of likes so that he can spread his viral marketing immediately.

His uniqueness of content and the curiosity of the title. Be something different that people will link to your website because you are the expert of the field, you are first on the news, you have a better scope of the subject.

Everyone saying impossible already have done it. You just have to have a great strategy behind it. Go with social media and spend some money in there with targeted people of interest and have some consistency in your posting.

SEO will find it's way later on.

I'm surprised at the number of people trying to answer in this thread. Every answer brings more questions from the OP and yet it doesn't seem that anything has been started.

I don't understand the point of worrying about 1 million page views BEFORE you've chosen a niche or built a website. This is cart WAY in front of the horse.

There are no guarantees except one - if you never get started you don't have a chance of succeeding.

      do anyone have experience
You keep posting a variation of that phrase again and again. YES, several people in this have a lot of experience but they can't hand that experience to you. You have to create your own experience. You have good advice but no one can provide the level of detail you seem to want. No one can tell you every step to take or what niche to choose or what articles to write.

You can't get a million page views until you have a site for people to visit. Come down to earth and get to work and you can get there.

I knew you were not talking about those sites in your signature.

However, let me point out a common mistake you've made on one of the sites.

The main page of the site has content well written in English - BUT several live links to the very page you are reading at the time. That would be like me putting a link to THIS post while I'm writing THIS post. Also, keyword stuffing is a bit much on that site.

Biggest mistake there is the "about us" page. Site owners don't like to pay writers to do an "irrelevant" page so they write it themselves. On your site one look at the "about us" page and you know something is off. It's a common mistake and the reason I look at "about me" pages when I go to a new site.

You've put forth the effort to create a site to target English speaking market - but the details are off so the site is not as effective as it might be.

Your best example will be websites like Viral Nova. Viperchill wrote up a great post on how this could be duplicated using viral Facebook strategies.

Time Sensitive: How to Reach 100,000,000 Unique Visitors in Just 6 Months

Of course a few things have changed so you will have to make some tweeks, but it can still be done. Good sources of large traffic would also be Reddit, Stumbleupon, and Pinterest.

The one thing I will say though is that these sources are not easy to convert if you want to use them for affiliate marketing, in fact Reddit users hate advertising. I would try to get the traffic on a list where you can start to build a relationship with them over time.

thank you for good link ...you mean social media traffic is not good to earn money as affiliate products ?
how can i make a targeted list with the traffic ?

No, I am not saying social media traffic is not good traffic to earn money from. What I mean is that it is better to get the large amount of traffic by leveraging social media viral marketing and then get people on a list and build a relationship with them. By doing this you have a much higher chance of them purchasing a product through you than if you were to just start advertising affiliate products to them.

To make a targeted list you give people what they are looking for. You say you want to create a website about technology. Would this be about different products like phones, tablets, laptops, etc?

If so, these people likely want to know what are the best products for their money. They want to know details about the software and applications. They want to know about the specifications of each product. They want to know more about future products. You could create a newsletter with specific information like:

The top 10 smartphones to buy for Christmas 2014.
What new products will Apple come out with in 2015?
How to start your own genomics company with Google's genome storage database.
When will the my pizza be delivered by Google's driverless car?
The drones have taken over and Amazon is bringing them to your front door.

you are right that site was my first try so i had some mistakes like many links as you said but i invest more than $5000 on the content and the results was not good .

but would you take a look at ForexSQ , Forex News , Online Currency Trading and tell me what are the main mistakes and how i can increase the traffic as you have better experience than me .
is the About Us page is that important as you said ?

I think your strategy is all wrong. You are not planning to make a useful site for users, but adsense making machine.....There is no way to succeed this way ( no in long term). Better way is to build clean, useful site (niche is not so important) and the traffic will come.

Just wondering but what are you trying to make money with? Is it from the big ads on the right hand side? I just wanted to say that it looks like you have a decent site with some interesting articles but you should def. find somebody that does website design to incorporate your ads inside of your articles to increase your clicks. It just seemed to me like the articles overpowered everything else and didn't really see anything on the right hand side. Also this looks like it covers several different topics that maybe making it tougher to find a target audience.
