Database of businesses?

Hi, does anyone use a database for businesses to find potential partners? Yellow Pages? DMOZ - the Open Directory Project Yahoo! Directory?

If you do, would you recommend any to all of us?
Is there a worldwide business database, that actually encompases as many companies as possible, not just ones,say, in the USA?

    google search businesses that offer a particular service. Focus on the small businesses that pay for ad space. They would be more willing to spend on something that will bring them more customers.

    1. Searching them on yelp.com
    2. Searching them on yellowpages like craigslist.com
