Awesome developer here:*What tools can I build for you?

Hi, I'm a software developer with a great eye for design and I'm looking for some new projects...

To clarify: I am not for hire. I'm just looking for ideas. Especially, marketing tools that Internet Marketers wish they had to sell.

So, Is there any particular tool or service you wish existed or think could be improved upon?

I can build anything, I just don't know where to start...

Cheers!

Your post belongs in the Warriors for Hire section, and/or the JV section.

A keyword research tool where people can adjust the weight of the inputs their selves.

Right now there are a few products on the market that don't allow for that and with my own SEO experience I can see how little they actually know about SEO, this leads to way much weight to certain factors and way too little to other factors.

By building a tool with default weights, based on my recommendations in case you would consider partnering with me, and the abilitity for the user to adjust the weights it would be one hell of an effective tool that is completely lacking in the market right now, and there's quite some market for it.

You would have to extract data through some API's, shouldn't be much of a problem for you, and you need to be able to write a number of exception rules in the program (preferably based on a synonym database), treat it like some sort of an AI with nodes and such (hope that makes sense), I have a little bit experience with these type of things myself but lack the programming part of it, instead I used a simplified custom programming language including screen scraping modules that were automatically implented so it was just connecting the dots and writing the strategy/AI script really, however that script language can't be re-used for a keyword research tool.

As for the exception rules / synonym database let me clarify:

        1) Most KW research tools give an immens weight to the actual keyword (makes sense right?)

        2) However Google treats synonyms or keywords with an s behind it, like lawn mower vs lawn mowers pratically as the same.

        3) Some web page titles are written like this: "Check Out The Best Lawn Mowers - Reviews That You can Count On". Now if someone likes to know the competition for "lawn mower reviews" then the current softwares don't treat that as an exact match, but as a partial match instead, indicating that the competition is real low, while Google ain't as stupid as those lame tools and treats it exactly the same or very near the same. I guess you get my point.

You can confirm these type of things by typing in a key phrase yourself in Google and looking at the keywords that are in bold, that's how Google identifies that, so it would be awesome if you could either write a script that matches these together or rely on a database of matching words.

After playing with existing tools it turns out the competition can vary from day to night based on these tiny differences. Complete lack of understanding the search engine algorith I'd call that or simply not caring cause their developer is incompetent to build it like that.
