Have a celebrity site. How can I make money with it?

About 6 years ago I had a Celebrity blog. I was posting twice a day for awhile.

I thought with my ability to write and be creative , I was sure to be the next Perez Hilton.

But I can tell you it is NOT easy to monetize at all.

You see with your traffic how dismal it can be.

You have to really be around a long time in this Niche and make a ton of contacts.

Ya I'm thinking about not concentrating on that site anymore and letting it just make little money on adsense and move on to other sites.

Even tho you say you tried, I still think products is your best shot at making some decent money from it. Try different placements, different colors, create some custom banners or images with a headline to maybe help with clicks & sales.

I say give it another shot, if it doesn't work just leave it like you said and focus on something with more potential.

As your niche is the sexy celebrity, you can do the adsense only. It is the best way to earn money. Even you can do the affiliate programing in this site. Some sexy toys provider wanted this kinds of site also. Thanks.

1000 daily visitors isn't too bad. Have you tried different adsense placement? Image and text ads? Colors? Ad sizes? Blending the ads into the content? There's a lot of different variations to play around with when it comes to adsense. Don't stick the adsense in a sidebar, this is the number 1 mistake most people make. It has to be integrated into the content itself to get the most clicks. Take a look at some old MFA (Made For Adsense) templates if you need ideas.

Fantastic suggestion guys! Yes I have tried different ad placement. I've changed my theme a lot. I've tried text and images... I tried hiding the ads within other texts. Nothing...

My site attracts teens and young adults. My theory is that this demographic is very ad savvy. They know an ad when they see it and avoid it. I have another site that targets an older audience and gets a lot more clicks and the traffic is a 10th.

I will try some of your suggestions and try to better target products to my audience.

If you are getting 1000 unique visitors a day and get horrible click through rates, I really think that you should add these ads in various places on that site and test to see which places get you the best click through.

Or you can just get rid of your ads and places affiliate offers that are in your niche.

Just a word to the wise . . .

Heads up when it comes to making money off another person's fame, image, or words. Yes, I know others do it all the time. That doesn't mean it's legal and it doesn't give you a license to break the law.

You really need to be careful about copyright of images and infringement of trade marks and service marks. I would seek competent legal advice from an attorney about what you can do because a lot of people in this world, including celebrities, models, actors, singers, and others don't particularly like other people making money off their hard work.

Creatively thinking like your demographic is right and they are aware when it comes to ads, they have learned to read with squinted eye learning to filter by "Too good to be true' filter" However, research says to look deep into this demographic esp because you have traffic. Can it be scaled. Will it work in other languages, across multiple devices, does it go where they go? Are there chat or messaging features? what are the ways it can be shared with their friends? The young mind is at its peak. Peak exploration, peak hormones, future is bright, still learning, ready for anything. Are they just passing through your spot to use the potty or are they giving you the opportunity to offer fries with that? What are your fries?

Honestly, I think the easiest thing Would be to goto a competing website like tmz.com and see what types of ads they have and try using that to start. I'd go with cpa offers over adsense if you can.

Without adsense, you may be an affiliate to sell sex toys (as the celebrity is sexy enough) but it doesn't help to earn enough. Frankly, these types of sites are useless for long term.
