Clients & Recurring Billing?

How do you handle recurring billing if someone wants to agree to a larger discount for signing a 3 or 6 month recurring billing ahead of time?

Sure I can set up something in Freshbooks or Paypal where customers get auto-billed each month to pay however I wanted to offer a larger discount for someone who agrees ahead of time to subscribe for more than 1 month at a time?

Is this something some software can do or do I need them to sign some separate contract that they wont cancel the recurring billing ahead of time??

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I think you can setup recurring billing for virtually any amount of time, but you can't guarantee they will stay with you. They can still cancel the bill or even do a charge back. If your product/service is good, they won't drop off, and you might profit better with the monthly billing. If they are dropping off, fix that first!

I would do a recurring billing on a monthly basis. That way, they can cancel their membership at anytime.

The problem is this:

Even if you offer them great content each month, there will always be the few who will stick around for a year and then do a chargeback to all 12 payments. This can happen especially if you have this setup through PayPal.

Yeah paypal makes recurring billing easy to setup. But people will sometimes request a refund going back 3 months. Then you have to fight it and paypal isn't fun to fight with.
