It amazes me just about every day, how many people want to make money, but they don't want to do the work, or they don't get around to it.

I've had about the same luck with writers, tell them to write something and oddly you don't hear from them again. Don't make sense.

It's very easy to call yourself a writer. When the usual advice trotted out to anyone on the forum wanting to make a few bucks is to try writing articles for money, even if their posts indicate a lack of a basic grasp of English, it's no surprise that some will enter the world of "service-provider" with little or no understanding of what's required to be a professional in the field.

But as a business owner, the onus is on you to hire appropriately. If you were running an offline enterprise, would you hire just anyone to provide a service that was critical to your business? The same due diligence should be applied to your online activity. That means checking out potential writers by looking at their previous work, client reviews, and other word-of-mouth recommendations to decide if they're likely to be a good fit for your requirements.

There's nothing wrong, in principle, with hiring a beginner, but in doing so, you should accept the greater risks involved and ask for samples and/or test the service to your satisfaction before committing to any time-critical work.

Otherwise, the fault lies squarely with the hirer.

Because next time around you may be hired again,

Try to find a VA on these forums, even worse, most quit after 1 day.

You know how I found my VA's in the past? I took semi-succesfull people from Fiverr, they already had work load and thus were already in the working mood.

I send them some test orders, then some larger orders and followed up with overloading them with work so they could solely work for me and employ some friends / family members where needed.

I also changed their type of work completely, initially the Fiverr gig they offered but in a modified way, and later on complete different tasks and completely tailored towards my needs.

All they have to do is send a e-mail and say I can not finish the project.. Or having problems now and will finish the project up in a week or two. If they ever deliver the article they will never be hired again.

I'm not 100% sure if this article is spun or someone was trying to ask a question or maybe rant about their frustrations with article writing freelancers.. but I will agree with one statement here in this thread. It seems like everyone's quick to claim how ready they are to make money but for some reason people seem to run when the rubber really meets the road.

In this world who do not want to make money? Do you please elaborate? There is no on who do not want to make/ earn money. So it is clear that every one wants to earn money in various way. Many people who use the 300 - 500 words/ 700-800 words, even some people like 1000 word article. There are freelancer who would like to do this kind of work. Thanks

The person has taken several weeks to write a article and still has not delivered. One of the points of thread is..... If you want to earn money online deliver what you promise. Do not answer with I will do the project and not deliver.

Take a web designer if they say it takes 2-3 weeks to build the site.... I have no problem waiting. If a writer says 2-3 weeks to write a article including research. again I have no problem waiting.,,.

But If it takes longer just send an email and say there is a delay... Dropping off the face of the earth is not a way to conduct a business.

People want to make money online but when they learn that they have to invest some money and their time, they turn the other way.

Other times, the people who are willing to do what ever it takes when they get started are just taught the wrong things from their so called mentors and gurus who don't do what they teach.

That's another great point. maybe the mentors should teach them to follow up and deliver. Last year I had a project that needed a few articles written. Every two weeks I received a e-mail from a writer asking to do another article till the project was completed. She wrote every article and got paid right on time. ....

Different topic along the same lines. Reach out to past customers and see if they need any more help from time to time. You may get hired again for a different project.

I read a great article the other day and it basically said if you are putting your ads out there you better be prepared to respond to your prospects the same day.If you are not prepared to respond to ads don't take an ad out.

The art and science of Customer Service seems to be dying everywhere and it mostly fails around simple communications. It is shocking how grateful people are when you provide them updates on services EVEN if the update is "No real update but making progress and will circle back shortly" THEN actually circle back. The difference between the people that fail, those that marginally succeed and those who knock it out of the park is how well they take care of existing customers.

In the meantime I agree with the comment of looking for folks that have a track record of success but still have time to take on new clients and produce solid work in the time frame you are looking for. Look at the reviews and start with small jobs until the person has proven themselves to be what you are looking for.

Yes people can suck but it is our responsibility to do our diligence to reduce our own risk as much or more than it is their responsibility to deliver. This is incredibly important because your diligence is the extent of real control you have at times in life. Best of Luck!

Your hired writers were probably waiting on their hired writers

Seriously, one should be wary of any article writer offering to do work for, say, $3-$10. At the lower end of the scale you are getting the second-language Odesk types; at the higher end of the scale ($7+) you could be getting those who are outsourcing to Odesk/Fiverr types and pocketing the difference.

That's not to say good writers can't be found at a decent price, but most charge a significant chunk. A good rule of thumb for finding a good writer, as Frank intimated, is to ask for their portfolio. ANY freelance writer who thinks anything of themselves will have a portfolio of their best work ready to show you (passing any Copyscape checks). If they can't be bothered to spend a few days putting this together for their business, then I'd walk away fast.

I will agree that if you are going to accept a job, or have accepted a job, that you should keep in touch with the person you are working for every few days and give them a status.

It's not that hard to do that. Its a matter of courtesy. You have to have the same work ethic online as you do offline and its probably more important since there is no face to face meeting in most cases online.

I have been told and believe it to be true that if you show up to do what you agreed to do, you are way ahead of a big percentage of contractors already. When you provide a service online, you're a contractor.

Be a good one. It pays off in the long run.

I think every one want to make money in this world. There is no one do not wants to make money. Because money is needed for every one. Article is very important things also. Its a good idea to write 700-1000 words article. but some people write 500 words, even some people write only 300 words articles.
