I make approx 2-3k a month selling on ebay and amazon

I am trying to get into IM but testing the waters, do you think a simple guide about how selling on amazon might benefit others? I was thinking something like AMAZON: its not just for books or something similar that goes into setting up an account and things to sell how to do it etc.. I think a lot of people know how to do this but some may not, for instance I helped my 84 year old great uncle set up an account a couple weeks ago and hes already selling things.. thoughts?

  • Sell It. If you are making money, and lots of it, or even if the idea is going to help others and provide value to other people, sell it. You'll make a lot more money.

The problem is not knowing where to sell it, via Clickbank or the WSO forum.

I feel like for a first time product creator, selling it through the WSO forum could be a good route.

If it makes money, provides information, and it creates value, people will buy it.

But keep in mind, you DO need a good salesletter and a lot of reviews to help with marketing. Without it, you'll be lost and won't get a single buyer. Convincing copy makes a big difference to the success if your product, and this relates to both WSO products and products being sold on other platforms.

My guess is that there are already 7.6 gazillion "How to Make Money with Amazon" guides out there. This isn't necessarily a deal-breaker -- there are a 15.2 gazillion guides on anything from building websites to cooking Thai food to raising Short-Haired Maltese Hamsters and yet still more and more of these are published and some are even successful. But what's going to make yours different? Is it better written? More informative? More fun to read? Better marketed?

Personally, I'd think that if you really know how to make money on Amazon, you'd make more by making money on Amazon rather than writing about it. Then again, I have a natural aversion to anything MMO related...

If you have a working system, sell it.

You benefit and so do your readers.

Thank you all for your input, and to Kilgore I understand your points, however I am averaging 2-3k from amazon and thats it, so if I can make more selling the ebook and helping people I think its a win/win my next question is what is a good ebook program and what should I start the price at, please note I am sort of a newbie, thank you all for your input.

    Steve,

Your best bet is to take a look at the competition when pricing your product; this won't be the only eBook in this area. We've had a great many chats on pricing here on WF and the only real answer is to look at your competitors and ask yourself a couple of questions:

    1. Do I penetrate the market with a lower price?
    2. Do I use prestige pricing and set a higher price to convey high quality?

Terribly lame, I know, but it really does boil down to that.

One thing about selling a guide to bear in mind is that there are unscrupulous people who will take your guide and sell it under your nose with their own name! I'm not trying to rain on your parade but it's something that you must consider on how to protect your digital property.

I personally (still would) like to make money from Amazon and Ebay and still have active accounts to do so, but haven't turned a coin for a while.

The best guides are the proven ones, as you say you have made $2-3K in sales, to show others how they can without them fishing in your pond.

Wishing you all the best in whatever you do.

    Kind regards

    Brian

Sorry but I wouldn't buy a guide from someone making 2-3k a month from selling on eBay and Amazon as it's quite easy to accomplish with the right products. Heck at my peak times I used to sell for $40k/month from classified ads, does that qualify me to write a guide on that? I don't think so as there are too many external factors that play a role, market change / adaption is one of them.

And that's the whole thing of eguides and such, the missing element is always the product, and that's what either makes it or breaks it.

Anyone can sell on eBay or Amazon, there is no magic to it, people don't need a guide to do it, just a product that is in demand with the right price and audience.

Yeah sorry I have something against info products as all the information people might need can be found for free using Google search. Sometimes I do buy such things out of curiosity though when it's vague in the sales letter, it always ends up as a waste of money cause I either knew it already or it's outdated.

What I do like to buy is for example what I bought last week, a price comparison software between AliBabyExpress and Craigslist, now that cuts the research time down big time. It has some glitches to work around but that's easily solvable by searching more specific instead of just "rowing machines" or something broad like that, but I can see how it cuts time at least in half by using that.

Value = providing something that saves you time and/or money and that you can't find anywhere else for free.

When I see how much time people spend reading through sales letters and making decisions whether to buy or not, if they had spend that time directly on Google they would have found their answers way faster and probably from more reliable expert sources.

Thanks for your input, I am strictly looking for the non experienced type that might benefit from this, I guess the tally is 50/50 so far.. but I do appreciate your input.

Steve...one thing I am working on is trying to identify what people are not being told in other "guides". I'd start there. No reason not to "sell" what you have learned...we all have a unique perspective. And that is the key. Just try to figure out what you are doing someone else may not have thought of, and of course include everything else from your perspective.

Are you saying something that has already been said? Not unless you copy and paste your guide!!

Good post. I have seen several of these & if you are a powerseller on eBay that would probably be a good selling point for your ebook. I would personally think it is a better idea to offer 1 on 1 coaching services to help people reach that mark or make youtube videos on how to make $3k a month with ebay & amazon. Just saying but I saw 1 video with about 500K views like that and could be able to sell your ebook that way as well.
