Need ideas for your blog?

I just launched a book (and ebook) on this very topic, but I'm curious... how do YOU generate ideas for your blog? Do you springboard off of what other bloggers have written? Do you review products or services?

I like interviewing others who have products coming out.

The questions are usually around the same, but hearing different perspectives from many different marketers is always cool.

Mainly I do reviews on stores / products in my niches, or I'll do a "Top 10" list for something in my niches. People seem to like posts with lists and it seems to keep them on your pages longer as they read from #10 all the way down to #1

Well i have a blog about internet marketing. And as you can imagine, there are alot of things to talk about in this niche. Luckily for me, i know so much about marketing online (and offline), that coming up with content is easy. Sometimes i write for pleasure, and sometimes i write specifically for the issues that my email members have. So basically the inspiration for me is to simply think of issues concerning the internet marketing arena, and put my input into it. They are all 500+ words long too. Serves me well.

I draw tons of ideas from articles and any other written content I consume. I use an app on my phone called Pocket where I save the articles and organize them. It is a haven of content ideas. I would also recommend keeping a journal to jot ideas and thoughts down throughout the day. There have been non-creative days where I re-read some notes and it sparks a whole period of creativity.

      I'd do a top 5 or 10 product review.

I do this too, but with evernote! Is pocket free? I wonder if there's an android version... Now you've got me curious. I'm going to check that out, thanks so much!

And of course, you can always hire writers. Speaking from the perspective of a writer that gets hired often -- it's interesting to me how many angles people HAVEN'T tried with regards to their blog posts. Review sites are especially bad about this... Mostly they post things like "My Unbiased Review of XYZ Product" and then pepper it with affiliate links. How does that give value to the customer? What about things like:

      - What I wish XYZ Product Included...
      - XYZ Product Unboxing (You can do this even if it's a digital product)
      - My First 24 Hours with XYZ Product
      and so on...

I would probably say hire writers as well. Then you can always build it up from where they start.

Most people are looking for "how it works". You can do googling it that related your niche for getting new idea. Then write an article for posting it to your blog.

First of all. you can reverse engineer what other successful bloggers are writing about and make your own variation. You can go to buzzsumo.com to get ideas of what is popular and gets tons of likes and social shares. You can also go to affportal.com and do index scraping to see all of the blog posts from a particular domain. There are tons of different content you can write about, there are youtube videos that you can get ideas from, the courses you learn and webinars you attend, writing about lists like top 10 ideas lists are popular, and writing review posts on a particular product is money if you know how to rank the content in Google.

There are many ways you can get fresh ideas for your blog posts:
    - You can go to YouTube, search for your keyword and notice the video titles, you can watch some of them if you want.
    - You can go to article posting sites like Ezine Articles and see the different titles people are posting in your niche.

One of my favorite ways is to use a PLR ebook. With that if you follow the ebook page by page, you can write many different articles without having to worry about a repetition.

I use my current and future products.

As long as, you made sure that your products provide the maximum value possible. A blog post can simply be a chapter of your product.

    Cheers,

Check related forums, see what the biggest problems people are facing and then write posts that offers solutions to their problems. Many people only post on forums after a few Google searches and then get fed up because they still can't find a solution to their problems. you could also find ideas based on "long tail" keywords in your niche, this way your writing posts based on keywords you know people are searching for.

Another good place to look is Yahoo Answers as you will find many questions there that need to be answered. Assemble a list of ten most commonly asked questions for your niche and you have the start of a really good blog article. Other places to get blog post ideas are from offline industry/niche magazines; interviews with experts and answering a site user's question. You could even post top ten tips as suggested by your site users. This is free content for your site and costs nothing but can pay off with user loyalty as people will happily contribute if they know they will get a little fame from doing so.

An idea can be to go thoruh forums and search for what people are searching. Investigate on which converstaion you will love to get involved for hours, and where you will love to get stuck studying, learning and enjoying new information from it.

Those are niches where if you wrtie about you will never stop and if you do the right marketing you will obtain a great income from it.

This is always the best way to get inspired, by just writing on something you are passionate about. Though, there's not always a good way to monetize every subject.
