how do you create hoplinks?

I have a lead on a company that is interested in using affiliate marketing to sell their products and services.

They don't have an affiliate program currently in place. I was wondering how I go about creating the hoplinks. And, how do I verify that someone has made a purchase from them?

I have seen how they're done with a site like Clickbank , but that's just a copy and paste process , with the link already made. How do I do this for a company that isn't already promoting their products using affiliates?

What type of products are they offering?

Some affiliate programs I know of that you can use to have affiliates promote your product and track their sales with a hoplink is Clickbank, Nanacast, DigiResults, and JVZoo.

    Hi wulfgar2012
There are probably two ways that you want to look into.
If the company wants to have you set this up for them you could list them as vendors on clickbank or other similar sites depending on if they are selling digital products or physical products.
You could also set up their own affiliate program on their website using an affiliate enabled shopping card.
Choosing the first setup menthioned you have the advantage of a network of affiliates promoting the product.
Choosing the later you would still have to promote the affiliate program. There you have the option of setting up more then one level of commissions making it possible for you to promote and get commisions also from your downline. This you need to discuss with the company.
Hope this helps best of luck.

      thanks Magnus.

getting them set up on Clickbank sounds great, but if I tell them about Clickbank , what's to stop them from signing up themselves and leaving me out of the loop?

I still haven't figured out how to go about promoting this company and their services.
Can anyone else offer any advice on how to get this set up?

I was thinking of starting a blog , or building a wordpress site and driving traffic to the company's site. But , as I mentioned in my original post, I would like to know how we'd go about setting it up so I can verify that the traffic was sent from my site. And how do I know if they make a sale and don't tell me?

          That's the big problem.

That's always the big problem, in such circumstances. "Payment security/reliability" is a huge issue for affiliates, which is why so many pro-affiliates will look only at offers in places like ClickBank.

          That's why I wouldn't do this, myself.

Becoming someone's first affiliate, when they're not in an established affiliate network that handles all these things, is pretty risky. They're going to be in control of it, not you, and you're going to have to trust them to "do it properly and reliably" and maybe even teach them how to do it, as well? Not for me.

Can you perhaps suggest to them that they should join an established network, which will make it much easier for them? Doing that might help them to attract other affiliates, too, so you might be able to interest them in the idea on those grounds?

They'll be joining the network as a vendor. You'll become their affiliate, through the network rather directly with them, and your share of the payments from sales to your customers will be automated by ClickBank.

          This is the big advantage.

For myself, I would consider doing it only on some basis like that. Not necessarily ClickBank specifically, of course, but "some basis like that", anyway, involving an established, automated, third-party service of guaranteed reliability to both parties.

Otherwise you'll never effectively know whether you're being paid reliably for sales made to traffic you've sent there? And that's no good, is it?

I will speak to them an relay the advice you've given and get them to set up an account with one of the affiliate networks.

You can recommend the company to sell through Clickbank.com and let Clickbank deal with all that affiliate stuff.

I think that would be the best and fastest way to do it.

    Cheers!
