Using EBAY Classified Ads to Build Your List Fast

I was recently looking for new ways to build a targeted list. I wanted to share some tips with fellows warriors about some ideas on how to build a list with ebay.

Ebay has a classified ads section. Many people don't talk much about Ebay classified ads. I guess it's like a quiet secret or something.

Since ebay recently banned digital download products you are no longer able to sell digital products through regular auction listings. But, you can still leverage the power of classified ads. A ad will run a full 30 days for $10.

Keep in mind that people that come on ebay are looking for things to buy. Unlike article marketing and organic searches these people are looking for information.

With a classified ad you can place an opt in form on the classified ad to gather information from prospects.

So basically what you can do is create a full 30 to 50 page report version. Then cut that report down to only about 10 to 20 pages for a free report version.

You then offer a free report on the ad. Place a optin form from your email autoresponder on the ad. When people optin to get the information you can redirect them to your sales letter with a one time offer. This is where they can buy the full version of the report for a inexpensive price. The purpose of the full version report is to pay for the cost of placing the ads and also to make some profit.

But, the main reason for the ad is to get optin leads.

If you don't have time to create a report you can also use a PLR product with giveaway rights. Make sure to read the license to make sure it has giveaway rights.

You just simply follow the same method and cut the main report down to a free report size. Make sure to put your affiliate links strategically inside the free report. This way in case they don't buy the one time offer at least you might get backend sales in affiliate commissions.

Don't bombared it with affiliate links also. Make sure the content is valuable.

Offer a free version then upsell to the full version. Or you can also send them an email like a day later offering them the chance to buy the full version. It's up to you. But, since they are in a buying mode it is best to offer a one time offer.

Keep in mind to find a niche that is in high demand. Many people on ebay like looking for work from home stuff. So this is a great place to start.

The more ads you place the more leads and money you make.

I hope this has helped you as it has helped me. It is always best to have multiple ways to build a targeted responsive list. Thanks.

    Rudy,
Excellent post, bro. Thanks for sharing the tips. E-bay has always been a great way to build a list of highly targeted traffic. I remember once reading some marketer's sales letter or book, I forget which, that said "ebay is the greatest Joint Venture partner you can find."

    Warmest Regards,
    Marcus

I've also been using ebay to collect opt-ins.

Don't forget that eBay is a search engine. So try to cover all of the main keywords in the title, and then cover as many keywords as you can in the description area.

Also - most people that use eBay use paypal. So if you have a product w/ paypal, it will sell well in the classifieds section.

    - forgot to add, eBay will also often buy adwords for listings that are up long enough. So there's the potential for free adwords as well.

Good post Sega. How long have you been using this method?

I remember something about ebay not liking people using opt ins from the classifieds.

Have you experienced any negative feedback from ebay.

I have recently set up this method but had trouble putting my autoresponder code in the description page as it didnt seem to like it. Is this a common thing or just something I was doing wrong?

I got round it by linking direct to my site where people can sign up...

Great post. Thanks for sharing! Although I think you could make a lot of money if you used to Ebay Classifieds for running traffic to CPA offers ... Cuz the kind of traffic that comes on there is highly suitable for the kind of offers CPA networks run.
