Could I make any money in a foreign policy niche?

You know what all the IM gurus say right? Pick a niche you're passionate about. The thing I'm most passionate about probably isn't profitable though. Can any of you think of any way to monetize a blog or small site on US foreign policy? Is there any potential at all in this? I know I can write dazzling content that other nerds (like me) will eat up. Am I nuts for even thinking about this?

    Check out who advertises on the Drudge Report, Politico, Daily Kos, etc. While not an exact match, it's close.

      I think that American foreign policy is a hot topic right now and probably has been since Bush. I think it's something that can have a big following and not just from so called nerds. Everyone is taking notice of it since the war in the Middle East, the actions and reaction to Russia and so on.

    I think almost every niche worth to try special foreign policy niche!
    I think it's hot and you can get massive audiences from facebook.

    Go for it. It wil work. Monetize with adsense and build a list to sell financial products, survival etc stuff too.

    Other than driving page views which would give you advertising revenue, I am not sure what "product" you could sell.

    The question to ask yourself is, as a Foreign Policy nerd, what information do you feel is missing or what would you pay for to get more of?
