Paul Smithson, Intellimon, XSitePro Closing Down Sale

I have been a user of XSP from back in the early days and have always found Paul Smithson to be a stand up guy. I just received an email from him about their closing down sale and thought I would post the link here in case anyone was interested. I am not an affiliate nor do I know this gentleman personally, just always had good results from his stuff.

There was a recent thread about XSP. The software is a bit dated but still has active users who make viable sites with it.

XSP was the first website-building tool I used. Good times. All the best to Paul.

I still use X-Header for a lot of things. You get it and like 5000 blank banners in the package.

This is the second time he's opened it up because he sold out the first time.

I created some sterling sites using this software back in the day. They ranked well but looked a bit basic however I was able to make some money with a whole ranch of Adsense sites

Thanks Paul for a create product.

I am a long time customer of XSP, the software while still supported was really good and worth the money.
Unfortunately Paul left us in the lurch for over 2 years while claiming "illness" and all the while still having the energy to pump out emails selling some or other BS...
The worst though was that he kept selling XSP knowing full well there would be no support for buyers.
The only support available was the member forum where a few good souls (Not connected to XSP) tried their best to answer questions etc.

As far as i and many of the early members of XSP are concerned Paul Smithson is a snake who abandoned his project and customers....

Just keep in mind that XSP was great in the early days but has not been updated in years and is now completely outdated.... Also you won't get any support if you have problems...

PS! This "sale" is just like Paul, trying to milk every penny out of XSP...

Here are some alternative thoughts on this situation. Sometimes things just happen and people get sick, I actually have extensive experience in this area from the terminal illness and disability of my wife. You don't want those things to happen but sometimes they do and you don't know why. But they affect your life in a variety of ways.

So in the world of all things being possible, perhaps he is very ill and is supporting himself in the only way he can, I don't know, I just suspect this is a possibility.

I had some success with XSP especially as a template based website builder; but I use exclusively wordpress now and have found that actually considerably easier to work with, especially in the area of making custom CSS mods. But all things considered, my experience with XSP was good. I never had an issue with support, and my sites, while looking 1999-ish, worked.

I liked XSP cranked out a lot of sites with it back in the days, however my WordPress sites always ranked better.

Like i said XSP was a good product.
What upset many of us was that Paul Smithson (Intellimon) did not bother to login to his customer forum for years. We had to rely on 3rd parties for any news.

He left us guessing, he promised an upgrade to v3 but that was ongoing. He apparently was to "sick"
to keep his customers updated but at the same time was posting pics of himself "recuperating" in the south of Spain?

If he really was ill and knowing full well that there was going to be no support or updates to XSP he should have don the right thing and closed the sales page.
Instead there were still people buying even up to the end when he closed the forum etc. After discovering that the support desk was unmanned these poor people came to the XSP forum begging for answers...

That's all i'm saying, he should have done the right thing from the get go...

Look at the XSitePro "SALE" page, even now there is no full disclosure. Most people don't know they are buying 8 year old software that is no longer being supported...

Sounds like you are really unhappy with your experience, sorry to have dredged that up for you.

I read about those negative comments about XSP that posted in this forum and it made me more sceptical about their reliability and trustworthy now because I lately have placed an order in the closing down sale. Until to date, unfortunately the goods never arrived. Sent a number of emails to different channels to seek status, no one cares to respond. I hope this CLOSING DOWN SALE was not a scam.

I hope you get your DVD set.
As for getting a reply from Paul Smithson, don't hold your breath...

'Different channels to seek status'? Prior to my purchase of this closing down package, I sent one email with a question about it as an email reply to the email address that sent the offer. I received a reply same day from a (very helpful) customer service person.

The sale is now over. No more copies are available. If you were worried it was a scam, you missed out.

I received my order yesterday (and had to sign for it). The hard plastic case, titled Intellimon Closing Down Special, contains 5 DVDs.

I should mention: I bought xSitePro and xHeaderPro years ago, so my primary interest is the education included on these DVDs
