Very recently I got an email from a multi-million dollar marketer who just wanted to hear back from his list with absolutely any questions about their business at all.

This guy just happens to be one of my favorite marketers so I shot off a reply email to him.

I really wanted to let him know how much he stood out from the pack.

Years ago he created the $7 Scripts that caught wildfire and I was going to set one up and he had recommended a guy that would assist people in setting everything up and the guy who did it would get a fee.

Well I guess the guy had so many orders he became overwhelmed and I did not hear back from him after paying.

Well I sent off an email to the Creator of the script and I really just wanted a techy question answered. Well he answered all my questions and before we ended the conversation out of the blue he paid the fee that I had paid the missing in action guy.

Now that stuck with me all these years and he remains one of my favorite marketers who really gives a damn.

He also has an ongoing offer on his forum that anyone who thinks of an idea for a software product he will create it and split the profits with them 50%

I just love this guys style.

I also mentioned to him that I had just accidentally stumbled onto one of his personal niches at that time and it was just a image video of car accidents with some corny James Bond music in the background and it was getting a lot of views. So I included it in one of my ebooks and it was a big success.

I told him I may have cost him some market share but gained him more views.

He has a great sense of humor by the way.

So after he got a bunch of replies back he sent another email that he would be created a solution to the most common problem that people were having and he gave a domain name where the site would be set up and the domain was registered like the same day he sent the email.

So hey that is just good marketing in my opinion. He still personally answered alot of questions and such and I think that is great.

I have seen a few marketers actually want to hear back from their list. A few not a lot but some do.

I actually did some cold replies to marketers one day just to see what the outcome would be.

I was offering ghostwriting services for viral ebooks. I actually got 3 projects all paying me half upfront!

That was shocking at the time.

But I do remember one guy who emails me like 3 times a day. I know he is probably a solo ad churn and burn type but I sent him the reply offering services anyway. (not hating on the solos )

So I was really surprised to see a reply back from him I think like 2 days later.

The reply was only 2 words. "Not Interested". At first I just had to smile. Well at least he took the time to reply. Then I thought about the fact that this guy sends me 3 emails a day promoting garbage and he is the one not interested?

So I just said to myself what the hell..the only reason I am on that list to like hundreds others I like to learn from the email tittles which ones are clever enough to get me to click on it.

So for the most part marketing is give and take when it comes to marketing and getting marketed to.

Now there is another millionaire marketer that many of you definitely know from this very forum.

I love his emails simply because his titles are always compelling.

So anyway last year I believe it was he sent out a years end Holiday email to his list and it was really good. Very sincere, very positive, very professional and very feel good.

That stood out alot.

So it really stood out even more when another marketer...a Clickbank whiz kid who I have seen get recommended by a big dog marketer just took that Holiday email did NO editing to it and sent it to his list that I just happen to be on.

But both emails came back to back from each other and all he did was just slap his name on the end.

Now that was the opposite version of standing out....for the wrong reasons...I will never forget that either.

So anyway that is the wacky marketing world we live in. Copy and paste, but also total integrity and professionalism.

When I think of Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerburgs real life histories I guess its not only in the marketing world.

So what about you? Do you have any email stories that stick out in your mind?

Would love to hear them.

Sorry. No email story. I do have some but they're quite old.

Don't know if you've heard of Ben Settle. Just found his site, and he's still writing an email every day to his list. I was on his list for a long time, quite some time ago.

He's different. Maybe you'll like his emails.

Who the f** is "we" - did you guys like get together and wrote the email? And why do you believe that I give a $&%t about what you believe?

But yeah, the good part is that the next wave of big successes is going to be people who actually communicate like humans, not corporate drones.

Yea that one really would just be in the corny category for me but its alot better than the spam emails I get with first name only like we go wayyyy back and I am suppose to click that sexy link....yea right.

My only pet peeve is when an email marketer sends a message and clearly states if you need to get in touch, just reply to any of my messages ....

And then when you do you never get a reply. I don't get it.

It never ceases to amaze me how easy it is to stand out from other email publishers by just replying to your subscriber's email!

Time and again, I'm blown away when a reader responds to my reply with, "I didn't really expect to hear back from you!"

It's just courtesy to reply to personal messages, and when doing that makes you stand out from a crowd of others (who ignore feedback completely), it's also good marketing!
