Why do people use GetResponse AND LeadPages together?

I've been planning to switch to GetResponse and I love the fact that they have plenty of lead pages built-in, including Thank You pages.

But as I've been researching, I see a LOT of people use GetResponse and LeadPages together. Why? What does LeadPages have that makes it worth it to couple up with GetResponse?

I'm thinking LeadPages allows you to do multiple step video funnels, but maybe GetResponse does too.

Thoughts?

I think it makes it just so much easier to do important stuff as split-testing, building entire funnels, increasing conversions and stuff like that.

I use an alternative to leadpages and it saves just so much time to get everything set up to maximize your results that it's well worth the money.

What is the alternative youre referring to?

Can you explain what you mean by "building entire funnels"? That's what I was wondering--Is GetResponse limited to certain kinds of landing pages, so that you couldn't, for instance, do multiple value videos leading up to a sale?

GetRepsonse is an autoresponder. It was never designed to be a lead page creator.

Leadpages is a lead page creator and thus has way more features when it comes to creating pages.

Two different tools that do two different things.

Is that true though? If you check out GetResponse's pages features, they're VERY robust--so much so that it's almost hard to tell a difference between them and what Leadpages is offering...that's why I'm asking...

Leadpages capture pages convert way better in terms of leads. The CR is great for some of their landing pages.

I looked at the landing page generator of GR as they released it. And I didn´t like it at all.

If you look at how good the templates from LeadPages look the GR ones pale in comparison. LP templates are made for conversions whereas GR templates just look nice.

You get LeadBoxes with LeadPages which is a great benefit because then you can now get nice exit popups for free with your LP account.

GetResponse is an AR company and they stick to that IMHO.

I also own WP ProfitBuilder and this is a nice alternative to LP if you are on a budget. It is not as easy as LP though but gives more flexibility.

I'd agree with this. I use GetResponse and I'm not a fan of the landing pages. Lead Pages has more templates, more customization, and you can easily create an A/B split test. Plus they have leadboxes which is another great feature.

The reason, and how it was explained to me by one of my customers: GetResponse works with LeadPages for one click additions to email lists.

Example: you buy an email ad to promote your product and it gets 100 clicks Of those 100 clicks 24 opt into your squeeze page and 10 buy your product. Normally, you have added 24 people to your list.

With the GetResponse / LeadPages combo you can have 100 email addresses magically added to your list. This is not possible with other services like AWeber.

        .

          SAY WHAT???

Anyway, GetResponse is used as an AutoResponder while Leadpages is used to build high converting squeeze pages. It's really that simple.

Just like how you don't use an inbuilt mic to shoot training videos even though it's there but instead you purchase a quality mic because it does a better job

LeadPages is pretty cool but I'm not sure why anybody would choose it over OptimizePress given the almost identical feature set and much better pricing of OP.

I'm a GR customer and am not a big fan of the Lead Pages they use. It's an extra $15 a month to get the GR landing pages and they're not as feature friendly as LeadPages

LOL What?! OK, so their sales pages don't seem to mention the extra fee that I saw. I thought it was included with the monthly email package. Well that alone makes the decision much easier. I was leaning toward LeadPages anyway--I just couldn't figure out how to justify it if I was already paying for similar functionality at GR....but apparently I wouldn't be!

OptimizePress does intrigue me though. I own it, but haven't played with it much. I just don't want it to become a time sink if I could easily create something in LeadPages and go.

Yeah, I use both as well. One thing to keep in mind is that leadpages.net is a self hosted platform meaning super fast load time. Don't discount that, it can easily increase your conversions depending on how you drive traffic to your squeeze pages

I've watched a couple videos now comparing the two, showing the building of the pages. Honestly, while I love the flexibility of OptimizePress, I love the ease of LeadPages. I think I'll be going with that. Probably with KajabiNext.

Was just trying GR and a custom sub domain and they said I needed to make a new sub domain for every single landing page. No thank you, unless I'm missing something. http://lp.domain.com/page1, http://lp.domain.com/page2 is what I was planning on doing. But they say http://page1.domain.com, http://page2.domain.com. That would be a extra step not interested in.
