What are YOU doing to make money this Black Friday?

It's Black Friday... and everyone has their money out, ready for a deal.

People KNOW they're going to be sold to. They KNOW they're going to part with money. Which means you can be ultra direct with your promotion and still sell... You just need to put an attractive offer in front of them..

I'm sure hundreds of marketers on this forum have a game-plan for today - a way they can top up their nest egg before Christmas.

But even if you haven't yet, there's still time. Everyone has something to offer. If you can write, offer that. If you own a list, promote a Black Friday special to it. Etc Etc.

Just do something - it's not often people are hanging around ready to buy. Some people are even paying other people to wait around for them...

So, how are you making money this Black Friday?

-Chris

I rolled out my trusted UK Black Friday deals site for the 4th year in a row.
What can I say - massive, massive traffic this year, hundreds of sales via Amazon and a few choice High St affiliate deals and best still, tens of thousands of hits to Amazon from my links.

Experience has tought me that what you sell today (Black Friday) has little relation to the amount of affy sales I'll have made over the next 30 days, or however long it is their Cookie sticks with visitors

Site is http://blackfriday-uk if anyone's interested, and it's up for sale on Freemarket here

One thing that looks to be working gangbusters for me this year is that I introduced a hashtag about two months ago #BlackFridayUK and I've been blasting it everywhere for weeks.

It's been picked up big time by Brit bargain hunters and good news is I seem to totally own it. Google the term and I beat Amazon into third spot, plus have a bunch of properties showing on page 1

Very nice. So why are you selling it now? Seems like Black Friday is growing every year in the UK. In fact, this year seems to be the "tipping point".

@Chriswrighto - Black Friday probably 'tipped' last year, when the site made me 4 figures for the first time over the 4-5 weeks leading up to and after Black Friday, thanks largely to the tracking cookie.

Initial indications look like we on course to trash that figure for 2014.

The strategy is simply - get people to hit my links into Amazon and a few other choice UK retailers,
(For British readers I'll just add that last year it was Argos who were the High St stars, but they got a bit precious over BF affiliates this year and I never bothered jumping through their hoops. 2014 it looks like M&S have done me well)

Why am I selling the site? Cos I don't live in the UK anymore, I loathe everything about shopping and Affiliate Marketing is something I've never been that good at and it's never provided me with the kind of cash I can make more easily elsewhere.

My site which now has getting on for 3000 real FB fans, has had 30,000+ hits this last week, so I think for a smart marketer, who loves building lists and sending out a weekly email of bargains, there's a great potential - I'm just too lazy to do it myself.

@DWolfe Agreed, it has a lot of potential, but I really cannot be arsed with it. I find the whole Amazon affiliate thing really depressing these days, and way too much work.

I just don't know why people go to all that stress gaming Google, just to get a good ranking and make a 6% cut on the price of a pizza cutter, or iPad cover.

I actually had a bunch of really underperforming affiliate sites tat had gone to s**t, and I just gave up on them, filled them with copied YouTIbe videos and left them. Now they make more money in commissions than they did before!

So yeah, Black Friday in the UK (and bizarrely enough Brazil where I live) seems to have gone way over tipping point and become a regular part of the shopping year.

        Whoopee woo.

Black Friday weekend as it is becoming know has become a world wide shopping frenzy.

Amazon is credited with taking it to the UK four or five years ago. Over the years it's become more and more successful garnering a lot of media buzz. The big pre-X-mas savings push.

Cyber Monday will probably fade away as Black Friday Weekend becomes a tradition.

BTW - Promoting a Black Friday Weekend sale myself.
