How to develop an effective affiliate offer

I'm thinking about offering the Ammo-Boss shotgun shell dispenser via an affiliate platform. Product here: www.ammo-boss.com Manufacturing starts in Feb. and I'd like to get an affiliate program in place for my internet push. My strategy is to provide affiliate links to video bloggers, forum owners or any one with a social following in the firearms/hunting space..

What are the realities of being an affiliate program administrator? Granted the chosen platform automates most of it but what are the realities of managing the personalities behind the affiliate accounts?

Long term I'd like to also market via traditional distribution channels like big box sporting goods stores and online retailers. Would an affiliate program somehow taint relationships with other potential distribution partners.

Finally I'm curious about choosing the best platform and structuring a decent offer for my affiliates.

    You'll probably find it is a full time job handling affiliates to their full potential.

    If you have the budget it would be better to hire an experienced affiliate manager or outsource it.

    In my experience you have to work hard to keep affiliates motivated, get them on your side and provide the support the best Affiliates need.

    You should also research what the chances are of picking up affiliates in your niche. Have you looked at how many sites could promote this? Talk to some site owners and sound out the possibilities before taking this too far.

    you probably want your items listed in a website that uses cpa affiliates as those folks who market that way already have an affiliate manager they have to answer to and that takes the problem out of your hands. Peerfly is one such companies do a search for companies like peerfly and you'll get a huge list on google.
