Which article directory is good?

Hey all,

Just a quick question. I'm struggling with finding an easy to use, simple, article directory. I don't want to use ezinearticles, can you please suggest me a good directory, any, and maybe a few where you have a normal source box - where you can place html, or at least use anchor text so you have a backlink to your website.

One more question - I tried GoArticles, but didn't really like it, nor did I get any traffic from them, and I have a question - what does it mean when it says 20 requests, 14 requests etc. - does it mean that someone copied my article to their website, or what? I don't know if I have to click somewhere and approve their requests.

Thanks,
Jack

    hi

    i use goarticles....

requests mean the article has been read "X" amount of times. they do not track the use or re-publishing like EZA.

but it is nice to have them live immediately.

also, goarticles stats are only updated once a day (and so is their rss feeds)

where EZA does have a huge advantage, is that they have a long list of newly published articles on the front page. while on the front page, you have a lot more exposure, plus a high PR backlink for that short while, sending you plenty of traffic.

however, it has been pointed out that it is easier to get an article on goarticles to rank well if you do some backlinking to it.

    suggestion -

on the front page of goarticles, do a search for your author name.

towards the top left you will see the rss (xml) button -

click it and get the feed url

put that feed into your blog sidebar, and on hubpages, and squidoo lenses you have build - use the max number of items allowed on the blog/hub/lens. use some plr material to set up a few blogs in different places just so you can get the backlinks.

you only need the headlines to get the backlinks.

on top of that, use tweetbots to route that rss feed to your twitter account - as it updates it will send a tweet

    hope this helps

    Hey Jack,

    how about using multiple directories?
I am using a software which allows me to automatically
post to more than 25 different directories (including Goarticles, EzineArticles, ArticleCity, etc)

well i don't know of any directories better than ezinearticles and goarticles, you can submit your articles to multiple directories and find out which one brings in better results for you. I have a list of around 500 article directories, I can PM you the list if you need it.

    Hi Jack,

The most popular article directory would be ezinearticles.
Most people would say it's the best so far.
You can also try to search the top 20 article directories in google.
You can pass your articles there.

    Good Luck!

Hi everyone - I have an extra question to add to this discussion if you can help. If I submit the same article to multiple sites is that going to have a positive or affect from more backlinks, organic traffic etc. or is it going to have a negative impact because of the duplicate content?

lot of people would disagree but i'd say no it won't have any negative effect ... the only thing is that not all of them will get indexed so you won't get backlinks or PR juice from many of them and also only those that are published on top article directories like ezinearticles goarticles or articledashboard would convert rest of them are just waste of time if you are submitting manually ... but you can avoid it by using some article submitter or outsourcing the submission

It's also worth looking for an article directory which only publishes articles that are specific to your niche. You can get a lot of links this way from other website owners in this niche taking the article and adding it to their site.
