Hi fellow warriors, I'd like to know what is the most effective and efficient way to drive free traffic.

Perhaps some people could shed me some light.

I have no experience however I was speaking with a guy last week who says his wife is making a huge amount with her blog mainly from impressions and simple survey or email conversions (I still don't understand how it works but that's what he said).

So what she does is join networking traffic exchanges where she has things in common with them. They are interested in her stuff and even after they are no longer doing the exchange, they still come back to read what she has to say, though I'm certain this isn't the best or even the right way to do it.

  It all depends on how long you think you're going to be around IM. If you are in it for the quick buck pay for traffic. If you are in it for the long haul then you need to build a network of traffic. Start your site with SEO first, then use articles Web 2.0 sites, traffic exchanges to build your web presence. This in turn will boost your SEO and you'll never have to worry about traffic again.

Use the following:
1. Bum Marketing writing articles and posting them at ezines such as Your Online Article Source on How to do Anything! and EzineArticles Submission - Submit Your Best Quality Original Articles For Massive Exposure, Ezine Publishers Get 25 Free Article Reprints and get backlinks to your site from the resource box

2. Join Forums, contribute relevant contents, and add your signature. Start from Warriorforum

3. Create free reports and ask people to have it for free with your links inside..

4. Join social networking sites such as Twitter: What are you doing?, facebook.com etc

5. Join bookmarking sites such as dig.it , technorati etc

At the moment it has to be twitter for the free traffic i can post a link on there and get hundreds of clicks within just a few minutes. It also adds lots of numbers onto my mailing lists which you cant turn down.

  This is the ultimate way to get free traffic and leverage from other people's assets. By leverage, I don't mean taking advantage of them; but give them the lion share of the earnings and give them special treatment.
  
  Just imagine if you could get just one JV partner who has hundreds of thousands of subscribers to promote for you. That beats any free traffic method anytime.

I personally use article & video marketing in combination with Twitter... Like Steve said, these techniques will build you a steady long term stream of targeted traffic.

If you have the know-how and you're in a relatively uncompetitive niche, SEO is a great source of traffic.
