Is being a Amazon Affiliate worth it??

I find the commissions quite low but that's everywhere the case.

I make $2k/month passive income so I suppose it's worth it.

Investment was about $6500,- to reach that point.

I tried it, but the earnings are way tooo low, so I stopped years back. Still I know many people can make huge money on it, if they are ready to invest lot of time and money on it. I think there are many other easy and better ways than amazon though!

The beauty of Amazon is they have so many different products to promote, most of which don't have any other affiliate program for.

You also get paid for whatever the visitor buys after clicking your link for 24 hours. I'd say most of the products I get commissions for aren't products I've promoted at all.

But to prove my point with this, I once wrote an article talking about water cooling PCs. A few months ago, somebody didn't just buy a water cooling kit - he bought $6000 worth of computer parts and I earned a commission on all of it. This is all on a site I stopped working on years ago.

I see no reason not to use it if you have a site that could benefit from it. Money is money.

Sellers are completely separate from affiliates. The commissions for affiliates range from 4-8% depending on how many items you manage to earn a commission from in a given month.

Competition and a traffic plan will depend a lot on the type of site and the site's niche. Blogs and pure review sites will have drastically different traffic generation plans, and the type of content you'll be creating will be different as well.

This is where I made my first money online. So it had me hooked right away! Once you learn the best practices for promoting Amazon physical products you can then scale this and make a very nice income indeed... So in short - YES!

Of course it's worth it. Amazon is the place to be if you really want to take your business to the next level.

Amazon is truly where a lot of the money is at, especially during these holidays. Well, obviously you won't be raking in a am much as those this holiday season when compared to those who have actually marketed physical products online since October or even earlier, but you should still continue trying until you reach making sales.

So yes, it's worth it.

if you have something you know people want to buy.. and not much info out there on it.. you can sometimes make good money by having a rich site that draws traffic, it would be targeting so you get a lot of conversions. Yesterday I had exactly 1000% conversation with some highly targeted and interested traffic in the products I talk about on my site.. and often times they buy not related items as well or sign up for services.

Your share is significantly below 10%: it's a while since I checked, from memory starts at 4% and maxes out at around 8.5% (more you sell more you make). I think I've averaged at around 8% out of over $400,000 worth of Amazon products sold, if the traffic at the time wasn't so easy to acquire it wouldn't have been worth it.

Making $35K from over $400,000 in sales isn't that great, if someone suggested that to me today I'd tell em to knob off :-)

If I was starting from scratch with affiliate marketing although I wouldn't ignore Amazon, it wouldn't be at the top of my list. Clickbank has a much higher percentage (up to 75%, 50% is common place), but finding quality products is HARD.

Affiliate sources like Shareasale has a lot of merchants and the affiliate percentage share tends to be much higher than Amazon, many are up to 20%.

If you average 5% on Amazon, pretty obvious an affiliate offering 20% means you need 4 times more Amazon sales to make the same amount of money.

I would say it one of the best ways to make money if you have the right products & right niche. You just have to sell high end & low end products to raise your commission rate. Also better to sell items they can't just pickup at Wal-Mart.

a whole heap of products to make a good sum. Most of the top amazon affiliates
spend a lot on SEO to make a high amount of sales. You also have to sell
high price items to make good commissions with a 4% commission rate, but these sales do not come easy.

Any money you can make online is worth it. I am a bid believer in multiple streams of income, and this is a very good way to add some streams of income.

IMO, you need to get a lot more traffic. At a 4% commission rate, it's tough to make a super good income. But on the other hand, they do give you commission for anything that the visitor buys within 24 hours. So that's definitely an added feature.

It does not hurt to try. In this business having multiple streams flowing in keeps you in the game So if people are making money doing it and you're interested in it, I say go for it!

It's worth it if you promote high priced products or you have the ability sell a lot of products. The affiliate payouts are based on tier. The more you sell, the more of a % you earn.

I think so. However, for electronics there is only a 4% commission. Expect a lot better luck as an affiliate for dating sites where you get $9 per sign up. Nerds dream of dating hot foreign women. All you need is to set up a web site and place some images. Still, there is a lot of competition for clicks now. It is not an easy way to make money. Bro, I am serious.

Amazon is a great source to earn good amount of money. First of all you have to choose a good product of reasonable prize. then promote it by your blog. Bring good traffic and try your best to make a lot of sell. To be successful in this IM sector you have to give your best try. It can be especially if you go after high ticket items. Amazon is nice because they are a reputable company unlike many others.

We have had a lot of customers from different sides of Amazon, we have people who sell on there and we have had affliates, so I have seen both sides. You can make money on Amazon but it is a case of what products you are going to sell or promote. It is important before starting any investment, to research the products first. There is no point spending a lot of money in promoting something that will not sell, so you need to find out what people would buy.

Do a test. When you have decided what products you are interested in promoting, speak to 20 people and ask them if they would buy them. If they say no then leave it alone.

A lot of people are now building sites where they have an Amason shop. The people we have worked with are doing very well from these online shops. I am not a website builder so I have not done one myself, but we have promoted a lot of them and they do really well. So it may be worth looking into having an online shop with all the best and popular products from Amazon.

Absolutely, my site focuses on lots of goods that can be purchased on Amazon. About 20% of the site's income comes from Amazon and the nice thing is, the longer the site is around, the more links that are out there, the more money you make.

True the commissions are low at first but the more items you sell the more your commission increases. And once you start making some sales, you will be motivated to try to make more sales!

I think Amazon is the best place for a newbie to start earning money on line simply for the wide range of products available. If you can think of a product, you can probably find it on Amazon. You are only limited by your imagination.

Again, like anything else: if you are looking for the magic bullet and the slot machine riches for making money from the Internet...You will not find it, on Amazon or anywhere else...

Even of you are only making $20 or $30 bucks a month, it is an addition to your income.

My advice: use Amazon as a training ground for your affiliate marketing skills. Learn and grow. Take advantage of all the Marketing Skills you can develop.

Start with a product you know and love...write a review, make a video and send traffic to your amazon link on YOUR site. And above all: DO NOT violate the Amazon TOS...Just follow the rules ...

FYI: Amazon allows you look at a link on their associate site that lists all of your commissions. I have been an associate (affiliate) for Amazon for a number of years and I was astounded...at the amount of commissions I have earned from them..... WOW!

Amazon has been around for a long long time and it is making money for a lot of people. It is a great place to start of as a newbie.

Michael - I would suggest that you learn to build your own basic websites for selling Amazon goods. It's not hard to do and you'll save a bundle of money that you'd have to give to the web developer.

The beauty of the Amazon programme is that you also get commission for other items that you sell apart from the items on your site. For example over the last month or so I've only 1/3rd of my commissions came from products that I had on my site. Maybe around around 15% were a related product. Therefore well over half my commissions came from totally unrelated products that people bought through my links.

The key for Amazon success is traffic. Now, get working. ;-)

Well sure it's "worth it." Although commission rates are relatively low, Amazon is very good at converting customers once you have referred them. I have made a lot of money as an Amazon Associate in the past, and many others have and are still making lots of money there as well.

Just a word of warning though. While it's easy to become an Associate and start referring products, be sure to read and understand the Terms of Service (T.O.S.) before you begin. Amazon is intolerant of mistakes and quite unforgiving if you violate its T.O.S. Should you do so (as I did inadvertently this year) you will find your Associates account terminated without warning, and with no recourse for getting it back.

You can beg all you want, but their decision to terminate your account will likely be irreversible and final, as I found out with my 8-year old Associates account.

And to top it off, Amazon will withhold any commissions you have already earned, but not been paid. This happened to me, and has happened to other Amazon Affiliates, including notable marketers like Joel Comm and Travis Campbell. So if you do decide to be an Amazon Associate, just be careful and pay attention so you don't get banned as well.

I just can't really get wit that 4% comm on most products. But I guess if you do volume and high-ticket items it can be worth it. Plus many people trust the Amazon name and tend to buy in other product categories that your site didn't originally send them there for - and you can get paid off those sales too. So I guess if you can't find any better alternatives then you can try Amazon and see how it pans out for you.

For my opinion, every website is profitable, but you have to advertise to the right place.

Trust me, if you had constant traffic to a site that sells $50k watches, the commissions wouldn't be too low.

Since I use paid ads I hate the lack of real-time stats and the delay in getting paid.

I tried it back awhile ago and it did not make very much money so if you are looking for day job killer and full time income then no, it will take a long time, a lot of time and money invested and a very low return on the investment and you will need to get massive amounts of traffic and convert very well to make a full time income.

Meanwhile on the other hand using Amazon to sell your own physical products(which is what I switched over to do) is very lucrative and you only have to sell a few to make a small fortune! You source your own products and it is super easy to rank your amazon pages in google and do videos and other paid marketing to increase your sales and it far less work and far less time to make a full time income! You would have to learn how to source your own products and market it but there are quite a few good programs out there that do that but I won't mention any here. Just google it.

Are there any Amazon Affiliates in New Zealand? I haven't made any money for 18 months, am getting a bit down because I find it hard to hear the trainer on the phone, they won't do emails... any suggestions?

like anything online if you know how to drive traffic to an offer you will get sales and Amazon offers are the same...

To be honest i have not been successful with Amazon, the 4% commissions is
just too low to motivate me to spend my time on.Why spend my time earning
4% commissions when i can make between 50% and 75% on other networks?
