What Has Been YOUR Most Successful Traffic Method

As internet marketers, we know the value of TRAFFIC.

Targetted Traffic.

Relevant Traffic.

You may have a great product/offer but without traffic, its as good as dead.

TRAFFIC......
The newbie craves for it.
The IM gurus devour it

TRAFFIC....

I here wish to ask: What has been your most successful Traffic method(s) so far?

You may wish to indicate your most successful PAID methods and your most succesful FREE method.
Also, kindly indicate whether this success was in a MMO niche or a non-MMO niche.

These can go a long way to help out a whole lot of us.
Thank you!

...SK.

    For me it has been:
    - Free traffic: forum marketing
    - Paid traffic: solo ads (from the right sellers)

There are plenty more, but in terms of conversions these work best for me.

If you don't mind me asking, which solo ad sellers have you had success with and how?

        Yeah sure.

Well i'm not going to give a list here of solo ad sellers, but here's some simple tip that should send you in the right direction:

-> Only buy solo ads from sellers that are product creators.

The reason solo ads don't work for many people is that they buy solo ads from people that build their list just so they can sell solo ads. That won't work and it's a dying business to be honest. The prices these guys ask for such low quality clicks is ridiculous.

So yeah with a good funnel and following this simple tip you'll still see good results.

        Cheers,
        Jens

Hmmm... This sounds interesting: "Although for awhile now SEO has been totally irrelevant to my business model"

Isn't it supposed to provide you organic and sustained traffic?- assuming 'twas done rightly...

Would love to know why you think its been "irrelevant". Too much competition? or...?
              Let's know...
And is your buisness model in an IM/MMO or non-IM/MMO niche?

You got that right. That's why it is so important to track your conversions with each solo ad vendor you buy traffic from.

    In my case...

For my IM/MMO funnel the only traffic source I use are Solo Ads. Because they are targeted towards that niche. If you decide to try them out, please make sure you do some research on the provider and also make sure your funnel it top-notch, otherwise you will end up like me at the start, burning thousands of $$$.

For non-IM niches, like weight loss, wood-working plans etc. Youtube has been the winner for me. I suppose you could call it a "free" traffic source, however I do spend some money on every video I upload to get it on the first page. But it converts as a video I uploaded in January and spent $50 on, has made me $2500 so roughly $250 each month. And I do have many more.

Hope that helps and gives you some idea.

    Jacob.

      Whao!
      What an insight....
      However, got a few Questions:
In your early days of doing Solo Ads, you burnt off a whole lot of cash....experimenting...testing out & researching, I suppose, UNTIL you finally got your preffered providers. Okay, question now is : What would you say are the crucial things to look for-before settling down on a Solo ad seller.

The best traffic comes from partner and affiliate traffic. This is what I use to leverage other peoples resources.

When was the last time you bought a product by reading and article from an article directory?

When was the last time you used a search engine to look for a product that you ended up purchasing.

Isn't the last product you purchase because of an email you received from either an affiliate or partner promoting the product with their link!

The number one source of traffic is affiliate or partner traffic.

I hope this has been helpful,

Well, surprisingly, you're right Steve (as least IMO)
However, before you got to having affiliates help out in the promotion- when you were not yet there... which method(s) did work out best-as at then, for you?

My hands are a little tied on specifics, I'm afraid. I have a product on this subject, you see (wouldn't be fair to get too specific). What I can say is this: With every video you should aim for 3 primary traffic sources: YT search (if you're on YT), search engine (Google, Yahoo, etc), and viral spread on social networks. Lastly: spend more time on keyword choice than you do making a video. Seriously. A golden keyword can bring you in passive income for years. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

I think it would have to be using you tube, as that is a proven winner.

Google images is a close second in generating traffic,
but you need a lot of high quality crisp images.

Hi Nikels, these are both free sources, right? or do you have to spend some money to tweak the videos to make this source your most successful?

Also, if I may ask, have you been successful with any of the PAID sources? (Solo Ads, PPC's , etc?)

Yes they are both free. I dont spend money on my videos, only time. I create everything myself but im sure some outsoure the work. Of course I spent money on programs as I am a graphic designer and dabble in video editing...
Just make sure your videos are professional and branded! Branding is a huge part. It gives people the impression you are an authority.

I do not work in any IM niches but I have paid for adverts in the past on blogs. Most of my traffic comes from youtube though, free and very targeted.

Traffic for the website can be generated through paid methods and free methods:
Free methods: Off page activities like bookmarking submissions, classified ads posting, blog posting, article posting, guest posting and various other activities can help in driving traffic to your website.
Social media marketing i.e promoting your website through social media websites also help in increasing traffic.

Paid methods: Paid advertising on search engines, social media websites and other websites can also help in getting targeted traffic to your website.

Paid Traffic Generating Method: Solo Ads (You can look for the sellers from facebook groups)

Free Traffic: Articles directory websites, Forums

Solo ads is popular. It helps to directly reach the targeted niche especially make money online segment. There are reliable sources over facebook. You can see how well of the sellers via the feedback given from testimonials.

Yea, Brown, these are all traffic sources as you've rightly said. However, as you are aware, some of them could be very fruitful/successful while others may not be as successful as well (given the same amount of dedication & investment)

So, in your case, what have you found to be your core, drilled down batch of traffic winners? Topmost one or two is okay. Thank you.

I think it all depends on what it is your trying to drive traffic too. For list building my best traffic has come from solo ads. A word to the wise not all solo ads are created equal. In my experience paying a little more for a solo from a trusted provider gives me far better results than paying less for junk solo's.

When I want to drive traffic to specific offers I use bing. I know its more expensive than other traffic sources but you get what you pay for. Not all of my bing campaigns make money but enough do to make it worth while.

I don't have much experience with FB ads but I'm experimenting all the time and I love the way I can get really targeted with them.

    Hope this helps a little?

On the Long term..... how do you promote "Word or mouth " or "Referals"?

Do you throw out a script, a request (possibly by email) to your clients requesting for referals? Do you assume that your good product or services will make your clients spread the word?

Just How do you make it to work?

...just curious to know HOW this could be enhanced actively.

Good (and often overlooked) question. Of course the first answer is to give fanatical customer (I didn't expect that) service. You know, the type of service that makes most of your competitors uncomfortable, or could even make their knees quiver.

But don't stop there. You can also take the bull by the horns and ask for those referrals, ask them to spread the word, ask them to recommend you. You can do it with words, forms, software programs or all of the above. The key is to make it easy, convenient and even beneficial (if you know what I mean) for them to do it.

PPC hands down has been my most successful traffic method. The lead cost vs subscriber opt-in is phenomenal. The second rival that i can say is solo ads. But with PPC, you don't have to pay so much for a cost per click. I know some solo ad vendors "overdeliver" with extra clicks... but PPC inherently has that built in lol. At a much lower price.

      Good point Randall.

The good thing about pay per click over solo ads is that with solo ads people are exposed to a lot of opportunities. With pay per click, these prospects are new and have not being exposed to a lot of opportunities or any of them. They are more likely to focus on your recommendation.

        Totally agree.

I'd take PPC over Solo Ads any day of the week, and for that very reason.

Paid advertising (think online, TV, radio, etc.) - nothing else has come even close.

A distant second has been free publicity. Hint: if your position your website/ blog correctly and if it looks professional, has a link specifically for the media to click on, you can take out online ads such as PPC and people, from the media, will start contacting you more often. Make sure you release a news worthy press release at least once a quarter.

SEO has been great for me, its not my biggest vehicle for advertising, but it is certainly the most efficient being all the clicks are free.

Cool to know the efficiency of the SEO.
Now, What, if I may ask, is that "biggest vehicle for advertising" that has worked out for you?

Hi Brent, When you say "Video ads", do you mean the little ads that do usually pop up on youtube videos just before you're led to watch what you initially wanted to watch OR just publishing your videos on youtube- the more traditional youtube marketing...?

    Ok here goes

For free traffic I love YouTube video marketing. The traffic is long term and completely passive.

Paid advertising is either Facebook or Solo Ads ... you have to watch your numbers though.

The most profitable traffic source is sending emails to my list. I think there will be no more targeted or better quality traffic than broadcasting to own list.

    Paid Traffic: WSO
    Free Traffic: SEO

Actually there are so many free traffic that's good for a long term like an infographics, you'll just have to think much on how to make it viral and to make every webmasters on your niche use it as a resource.

BTW, Infographics can use as a method for SEO. There are so many of them...create a mindmap on how to link it all together for AGAIN ..in long term.

For my free Method I have used Youtube and Targeted Forum post.
I have seen Success with FB Ads. I think if you could make a good video that educate people on whatever topic your into then post it to YouTube, you will get some good traffic as well as leads.

Solo Ad is quite targeted if you're into the Internet Marketing Niche as most solo sellers build their list around this Niche

My most successful avenue for traffic has been safe-list emailing services (promoting various Click Bank programs)

If you are involved with online advertising in anyway, I suggest getting your feet wet there asap (if you already haven't done so that is).

One traffic area that hasn't earned me a raw dime is traffic exchanges. I am not exactly sure if the TE concept is inherently flawed or that I just couldn't find a way to earn from them, but I suggest ANYTHING over clicking for credits.

You can try You Tube videos, blogging, seo, but optin email marketing is where I suggest you spend your time investigating.

Thanks for your response. However, talking about that (email marketing), you'll need a squeeze page and all that (set upi you funnel), fine. Now, having done this, what's your best traffic method to drive traffic to the sq page (to finally optin and build your list for the email marketing aspect?)
Or...do you rent a "safe" email list to mail to?
