Feedback on new Website Idea!

Hey Warriors!

I had a new website idea, but wanted to get feedback on it first from all you awesome people

So I had an idea of creating a website like Udemy, but focusing just on making money online, and SEO and that kind of stuff. So it would be on similar topics as the Warrior Forum, but in the format as Udemy.

If you don't know what Udemy is or how it works, basically people can publish teaching courses and things like that on the site, and then people can buy the courses, and the site owners get a commission on each sale.

I know that these kind of sites are big right now, as people are really interested in learning things online for a relatively cheaper price than traditional education.

Do you think this would work? What do you think the difficulties would be in launching a site like this?

EDIT: Another idea I had was creating a marketplace website, where users could sell products and customers could buy them, and I take a commission on the sells. However, I was wondering if it would require a large investment to get a marketplace site off the ground? How much security must you provide?

Thanks!

As for the Udemy type idea, don't sound bad, though you would be competing with them and they already have a big presence. What could be found on your site that is not on Udemy? How would your site be better?

As for a market place, good luck, you'd be up against some big players like JVzoo and Warrior+, or even Clickbank. Sorry, I think that would be a huge undertaking. There have been other market places in the past that have fallen to the side lines, like rapbank for one.

Here again, how would you market place be better than the ones already out there?

Not trying to be negative, just trying to be realistic. Surely not impossible, but they would be some tough idea's to get off the ground and profitable.

      Hello! Thanks for the feedback!

As for the Udemy idea, since I've recently found out that there isn't really a full WP theme solution for this idea, I won't be taking that on right now.

For the Marketplace, I was thinking of doing it mainly for the online gaming niche, sort of like Playerauctions.com

I was mainly concerned about how much security I would have to provide, obviously I would handle all payments and hold them until the items are delivered successfully, but would I have to pay for any security measures that anyone knows of?

      Thanks!

One great thing I learned from Allen Says about online business ideas was "be yourself" instead of being a copycat. When I did copycat big name business (profitable) I did make decent money, but as a sole marketer, I could not compete with profitable online businesses because those profitable businesses involved a team of highly polished marketers. Networking was the key to their success. The network did not copycat other profitable businesses because each of those network members were highly polished in their own area of expertise. It was more of a shared network.

With that said, I usually give general advise and opinions to sole marketers when trying to start an online business based on another profitable online business. My own advise is to "be yourself" and do not try to start an online business in a existing highly competitive market. Try it if you want to, but be prepared for the worse. However, if you make it a success then you may find that the success has an end point. If that happens be prepared to take it to the next level and make it a huge success. Success can usually be built-on and in a lot of cases the business can often be built-up with the "team method" and only the team method of networking.

One way to do it right is to find other business minded solo marketers and form a team, i.e. network. Make sure everyone involved has a financial interest and only the best of intentions. It is a good stepping stone into a world where your own knowledge is fairly polished in one or two areas and the rest of the network is also polished in their own areas. There is a saying "two heads are better than one" and I have found that in the online business world "three heads are better than two" and so forth.

Another aspect of it is I have found that I can always sell the business when it reaches a decent level of success in terms of profit(s). That is plural, btw. That means a online business with multiple levels of profits always does better than a business with only a few levels of profit.

Something to think about.. Be Yourself, Never Copycat, Build a Network of Like Minded Partners, and Always Build-On Multiple Levels of Profits.

Best of luck to you and happy holidays.

    Jeffery 100% :-)
