Can you help me make $1,000 a month?

Thank you for taking the time to read my forum thread.

Today marks a very scary, yet exciting day in my career as an internet marketer.

I've decided today that I am ready to take internet marketing serious and make it my full time income.

If you are an internet marketer making a respectable income regularly I would love to meet you.

I'm very receptive to reading, advice, and coaching but please make sure you have the time to offer occasional skype chat sessions if there's anything I don't quite understand right away.

My short term goal is to generate my rent for this month, and next month, two months of rent, etc. etc.

I have a small bit of money to invest, I have web hosting, wordpress knowledge, etc. My greatest asset is my free time now however.

    And you only have a "small bit of money to invest" ?

    First off, be realistic.
    Not sure how much your rent is and what kind of past experience you have...but making money isn't push button easy. It takes work.

    You can scale faster when you have an advertising budget. Otherwise it will take longer.

    Secondly, we are all here to help each other, but that doesn't mean we can forego our responsibilities at the drop of a hat to get on skype to clarify things for you.
    In most cases, you have to pay for that kind of coaching.

    Not to sound mean, but that came across as entitled.

    My best advice is to find a mentor who you respect and vibe with and do whatever they are doing to get results. Success does leave clues.

      I left my 9to5 to be an entrepreneur, I formed an LLC and have made some money so far on my own through marketing.

      I'm sorry if I sounded entitled, I tried to convey my need as efficiently as possible. Wasn't my intention though.

      I've had people put in their 2 cents and then follow it up with "But I don't have time to go in to detail" I'm trying to avoid that here. If you can suggest a book or website, or service I would prefer that.

      As far as the skype chat, it's not a mandatory chore, more like a friendly touch base.

        Leaving your job before making at least enough to cover expenses is not the best move you could have made...
        Most people leave their regular jobs only after they've made at least what their job was paying.
        Now you are stuck behind the 8 ball and have to ask how to make $1000 pm, i just hope for your sake you had the foresight to put a few months of living expenses away....

          I actually don't think it's necessarily a bad idea to quit your job before you're making your full salary provided:
          1. You can afford to make little to nothing for at least a year, preferably two. This might be accomplished via savings, a spouse who's working or by getting investment.
          2. You have the skills and experience to fall back into the job market in the event of failure.
          3. You have a plan.
          Unfortunately, I'm not sure that the OP has any of those things...

    Already you have the good skill to earn a handsome amount of money. Nowadays it is no longer an issue to earn $1000 per months. One can earn easily the amount. If you have the Wordpress knowledge, you can build website & sell them. Even you can do freelancing work. There are many freelancing market place, where the wordpress expert needed. You should take a look on these. You are a skilled person, why you will be in money problem?

      Hey, I've actually considered finishing and selling a few niche Amazon Affiliate wordpress sites over the next few days. Thank you for the tip. With regards to offering my Wordpress services, that's something to think about, maybe I can offer hosting and set-up on my server for a fee.

    To be honest you can make $1,000 a month multiple ways. It's just having the knowledge to get started. Of course that's why you're here.

    First things first. What do you like to do? You can find perhaps a hobby that you can turn into a product.

    For instance, and this is not a plug but a real life scenario.

    I run my Mobile App Builder company. But in my spare time I make my own niche sports apps for college and professional sports teams. Because I am a sports nut. Now I was slowly making them for about 4 to 5 months and now they've brought me about $1,500 a month or so in Admob, Revmob and Pollfish revenue.

    So that's just an idea. The key is finding what you like to do and turning it into a niche. Otherwise, if you work from home and do something you don't like, it will just feel like another job.

      I really like creating automated systems and efficiency. I like to study marketing and have a few particular things I find interesting, space, hydroponic growing, life motivation, coffee and espresso, stuff like that.

      I like building a website, having content written, monetizing it with ads, and building a list. This is something that I can multiply with whatever niche looks profitable until I have 100 sites bringing me income.

      Mobile I hear is still in the early days of ad revenue, when I have more capital I may try and have apps built for under $1000 and monetize them with Ads or even advertise on mobile certain CPA offers.

      Everything is on the table for me as far as working from home as long as I have fun learning it and I can scale it efficiently.

        Man... getting defensive is not going to be the best strategy to get great advice here.

        Secondly, finances are a very important part of marketing, especially doing this to replace your income. Acting like it isn't relevant to what you're asking, shows your lack of experience.

        Since the title of your thread has to do with finances, don't you think that makes it an easy subject to discuss?

        My advice... to make $1,000/mo... get a job. If you don't want to do that, then maybe look into offering services. Check out the offline marketing part of the forum, you can get plenty of ideas there and many threads to use as a guideline. That's where you want to go to get tips to make money fast. Generally speaking, internet marketing is something that can take quite a bit of time, for most that are successful it takes a year to see anything substantial.

        Like the poster said above. Create a service if you like building websites. First get your business' website built explaining your service, maybe make some web demos and advertise for free on place a like Craigslist. Yes, Craigslist is competitive regarding web development, but there's enough business to get rolling. And after you get some under your belt and put out a quality product, then you will probably start getting some referrals.

              I don't think there is anything harder to do than just "go for it". You can start this or that and dabble in this and that - and think about this or that. Committing to working ONE plan day after day - is something many people avoid - yet it's what works best.

              Dedicate one full month - every day - to succeeding in ONE of the things you've started. Start writing like crazy for Kindle - or promoting your kindle books like crazy. FOCUS and see what you can do with 30 days of concentrated effort.

        You do have time so content you can write yourself, that's already a big money saver.

        If I didn't have too much too spend and was prepared to lose it I would most likely advertise in newsletter, read Alexis posts about it, very useful.

        If I had more time I would spend it on SEO, eg building a private blog network to rank my sites, but ranking a site can easily take 4-6 months these days and maybe that's a bit too long for you now.

            Hydroponics? Good niche to start on.

            Yes, you can make $1,000 per month from a site with an email opt-in and list-building and email marketing (don't refer to it as a "newsletter": that doesn't attract so many people - give a well-targeted "free report", too; very few people will opt in just for a "newsletter").

            You could do that just by promoting two or three different ClickBank products on hydroponics. Two sales per day, as an affiliate, adds up to more than $1,000 per month.

            It's all a big learning-curve, of course, but you know that already, right?

            And regarding the "email marketing" side of things, this post contains links (right at the end of the post) to 6 different posts/threads which - between them - cover all the basics of email marketing, and will at least get you oriented.

            I like the tone of your thread and your replies, and the way you've responded to people understandably offering the observation that giving up your day-job to do this might be "risky".

            I think you're in a similar position to the one I was in, when I started. I had time available, no real knowledge or experience at all, no job, and wanted to build something up from which I could make a living. I managed it - it took time! - and you can, too. If it helps you, this is what I did (and still do), and if it interests you, these are all the ways I screwed up when I first started .

            (You don't look so "pudgey" to me ).

    It seems like you are looking for a mentor to help you achieve what you want. I am not the one but I congratulate you for your move and determination. The only thing I concern is that good mentor may not come to look for students in each tread. The student has to search the mentor himself. I may be wrong but I wish you very best luck out of your journey.

      I think the best way for you to start to generate money is to create a service. You said you like site building. Create several sites for your portfolio, and then advertise your services on forums like this one. From there you can begin to try new ventures with the money you've earned.

    How much money do you want to invest to get $1000 a month?

    < $100 - start a blog with your passion for the niche, write your own quality content, promote it on forums, reddit. Collect email address, build your email list.

    ~$500 - you have some options here.
    Create a blog, outsource the content if you don't want to write. But hire real writers, not that $1 per 100 words articles. The goal is to build email list or promote affiliate products
    Create mobile apps or hire the developer or buy app source codes. Monetize with in-app purchases or ads. Use the remaining budget to promote with FB ads
    Write ebooks, or hire a ghost writer, sell it to Amazon kindle. If you can create a good book, create a landing page and promote it on social media. Use the remaining budget to promote
    You can also create your own products.

    > $1000 - Other than what I mentioned above, you have 1 more option. Affiliate Marketing with paid traffic.
    Spend $100 for private affiliate forum to learn (definitely worth it). Spend the rest to apply what you've learned. In long term, hire your own media buy team to 'automate'

    If you are going to have rent problem in a month then I strongly advice you don't rely on IM for that.

    Apart from the fact that IM takes time, it also require you to plough back a good sum of your intital income into your business for stability.

    The most feasible immediate term business idea is starting a service on any skills you have like writing, graphics e.t.c on the forums. The money you earn will come directly into your PayPal account and readily available for use. You can also expand into freelance site which would take an accumulative period of time for your earnings to clear.

    Once you don't have problem of rent you can then start investing in affiliate programs to make good money which is going to take a while to build up and also start planning big.

Maybe that will help you think about your approach to this

    I respect your decision to quit your job. It takes some serious testicular fortitude (balls) to do that. Now you will have a lot more time to focus on your business and you will be motivated to work hard because you don't have the security of a guaranteed paycheck.

    What exactly are you doing right now? Do you plan on starting from scratch or are you involved in some sort of business right now?

    Well, I take it you want to use the Internet? Supply and demand and you have a tool to reach a worldwide audience.

    So a $1,000 a month you say....

    man, where to start....

    Well first you have to decide in a way to do this. paid sales with your own product, affiliate yourself and get commissions for sales you generate, you can even do cost per action which getting paid for having a user perform a action such as entering their email address. You can really leverage your efforts and build yourself a team with either through something like a multi level marketing program or even creating your own product and having other affiliates market it for you.

    The number one problem is people trying to make cash too fast. So if it doesn't happen, they give up.
    Think about a lower number then move forward.

    That's $33/day so think about making $5 to start with. Then scale up what's working

    Not sure if this fits the bill, but I just made $900 doing a modified version of the 9x12 system...less ads, smaller size, etc...thanks Jake.

    Anyway...I did it 100% with emails then follow-up phones calls when needed to close advertisers.

    Great thing is...no overhead...no start-up expenses...no ongoing expenses...no face to face...no cold calls...no leaving the house. It's a rush to build something from literally nothing.

    I never touch the product...everything is outsourced to a local mail house...I use PayPal to invoice before mailing...so no chasing $$$ or waiting for a check in the mail.

    My goal is to do one new one a month, and do each one monthly ongoing...so $900 x however many you want to do.

    Anyway...happy to share more details if wanted/needed, and good luck!

    Make YouTube videos. They're free. Make a lot and promote affiliate products (ideally ones that pay residually) like autoresponders, and other quality tools that have a high value. Not hypey softwares, etc.

    Once you start to make some money, Invest into build an email list. An email list is the only sustainable "push-button" solution I know of online.

    I agree with GinaStringer and Alexa ...start a website based around one of your interests (Hydroponics) and grow it...build a list...sell affiliate products and/or create your own...

    Something else I would recommend ... you said you are interested in wordpress .... not sure how deep you are into coding or designing but, have you ever thought about creating and selling pre-made themes? There is alot of time that needs to be invested (which you said you have) but there is also alot of $$ to be made..

    There are many, many avenues associated with internet marketing such as email marketing, solo ads, list building, facebook, twitter, website monetization and on and on.

    First off decide what you are offering...do you have products of your own or going to do affiliate marketing?

    Second, know your target market....who are you going to market your products to

    Third, decide which platform you are going to use...email, social media, website

    Last, Find a mentor that can help you market to your target market with the platform of your choice.

    Make a plan and STICK to it!

    Everybody is giving all the advice that you will need. Don't overcomplicate things. If you are good at something then build take your name out there. Let people know that you're someone who knows XYZ.

    It's super dangerous to wait until everythings perfect before you move. Someday never comes.
