How can I find guest blogs

Hi there,

I want to drive traffic to my squeeze page and I do not have a budget for paid advertisements.

I am looking for guest blogging. I am in the fitness niche and I am searching Google for fitness+"write for us" or fitness+"become an author".

I started with 4 or 5 blogs and I filled the form on their websites but no one have replied to my request.

Am I doing anything wrong? Is there any other way to get my content on other peoples' blogs?

You're looking only for the minority of blogs that give instructions/advice on their site on how to do that.

Most of the places I've done guest blogging, in a wide range of different niches, don't do that at all. But many of their owners are perfectly approachable and potential publishers of guest posts.

I think so, yes. I think you're probably concentrating on a small minority at the cost of missing out the great majority. Don't imagine that people who don't give instructions on guest-post submission on their sites don't want them!

This may help you, since guest blogging is just a specific variation of article marketing: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post6575732

Making comments on blogs, if you really add value, can also be hugely useful toward the "relationship-building" aspect of content marketing on which guest blogging rests.

What is your "routine" for blogs with comments enabled, if they don't openly invite syndication partners? Do you routinely first comment, wait for a response, and only after that hit them up with an syndication offer?

Most of the time, I've already tried them with a syndication-request before (which, for whatever reason - sometimes lack of response - hasn't come to fruition). But either way, if I feel like it and am genuinely able to make a long comment that unambiguously adds value, then I'll try that and see if it gets through their moderation-process. Sometimes looking through the blog's existing comments will give you some kind of indication of what's likely to be accepted, anyway.

Just to add to what Alexa has said (excellent advice, as usual):

I've found that most publications respond when I send second and third emails (generally a week or so after the first email has been sent). I'm sure this has something to do with my timezone, but it also lets publications know you're adamant to get your content in front of their audience.

Furthermore, think beyond just blogs. Magazines/ezines/newspapers/newsletters. I think one of the biggest mistakes I made when starting article syndication was focusing primarily on blogs. They tend to bring the least amount of traffic to websites (not all the time) in comparison to the publications listed above. I say not all the time because sometimes there will be a few which bring hundreds of visitors to your website, but those are the minority, from my experience.

But yes - definitely personalize the email. Begin with a good 300-500 word (or so) introduction explaining what you like about their website and how it works for their audience - such as design, articles (if they have any on their website), how you think the article will benefit their audience, and whatever else; I always try and find something unique about their website so they know it's not just copy and paste, and looks like you actually took the time to look through their site.

Moreover, you can expand your search by following this website: Top 25 Google Search Tips, Tricks | BGR

Just to put things into perspective: I have received zero responses from the last 30 emails I've sent over the last three days (normally I try and send 30-40 unique emails per day - I've just been lazy). Again - could be a timezone thing (definitely a factor) but you'll literally need to send hundreds of emails before you get any real results.

What you need to do is simply contact a lot more people!

Just increase the numbers and you will get the results you are looking for.

The first time will be the most challenging. Contact as many blog owners in your niche as possible. Then find out an average of how many you would have to go through, in order to get at least one or two responses. Then, simply rinse and repeat!

    I hope this helps!

I wish you the best of the best!

    Keep up the great work!!

    Cheers!

  • Why do you want to write for someone and build their credit?

You do all the hard writing work and all they do is taking it for everyone.

Check site like Copy Blogger or Social Media Examiner.

People do the work, they take them all.

It is easier to find out traffic by yourself rather than copy and do some stupid comments.

Here is a hint, people who are hungry buyers do not know anything about the word "subscribe".

The opposite thing happens, people who know about "subscribe" are not buyers.

People generally want to do guest blogging (as I do myself, whenever I can), because it's such an excellent way of attracting to your site highly targeted traffic that someone else has already targeted. Overall, it's one of the most responsive and most valuable traffic-sources there is.

You have totally missed the point of the discussion.
