Are Solo Ads Still Worth Purchasing?

Just wanted to get some feed back on solo ads and are they still worth buying?

The way I see it is like this, why would a solo ad vendor want to send his list my offer? Surely if his list was responsive they would send their own offers?

Am I just being cynical here? I'm just thinking that if I had a list that I had built up spent time building a relationship with why the hell would I send them to an offer I know little about? just to earn $50 for 100 clicks? It only makes sense to me if the lists are not that responsive hence them selling clicks rather than products.

      It depends upon your Expectations.

If you look at it like, "Okay I have $100 at Max to spend and I know I can make my Biz successful by buying 200 clicks" then NO they are not worth purchasing.

If you have a couple of grand and want to invest 2000 clicks and then just reinvest it again and again...then Solo Ads could definitely be worth it.

What I am trying to get at is Solo Ads for the most part are NOT quality traffic !
Just because exactly what you said about a responsive list. Many times it ends up being a Numbers game

And if you have the Mindset of ' throwing enough stuff on the wall until something sticks '...then yes it can work.

For many quite successfully. But a majority usually fail

I think your spot on. Its all about expectations and perhaps I've set mine a little high! For example I've just spent $300 on several different solo ads. I have a squeeze page that converts at around 50% with both PPC and solo traffic. My front end offer is $7 and I have an OTO of $47. I also spent $300 on bing PPC and here are the results.

        Solo Ads Clicks 683
        Optins 328
        Front end sales 4
        OTO 0
        Profit loss -$272

        PPC Clicks 857
        Optins 441
        Front End Sales 24
        OTO Sales 4
        Profit loss +$56

The only thing to add is the fact it took 3 times longer to get the PPC than the solo clicks but as you can see the PPC paid off much better.

Based on those stats alone, I would just turn up the heat on the PPC clicks, so that you can make a profit much much quicker.

Since you already made a profit from it, and it clearly works.

I personally believe that there are only a few good solo ads sellers out there. But if you got good sell funnel that converts well then PPC will work better for you. So keep going with PPC and wish you best luck!

In todays current Solo Ad "market" you're going to be hard pressed
to find a handful of "quality sellers" due to scammers being taught
to buy cheap cpa lists, upload the same lists into 15 different responders
    etc...

Here's a decent website of some good sellers...

I'm pretty new to this and I've also found the lists are burnt out. I get very low open rates and CTRs on emails even when giving away freebies.

    Hi,

A lot of folks approach buying solo ads as a way to get a lot of names
onto their lists so that they can then turn to doing just ad-swaps with
    other list owners.

For example - 1,000+ click swaps to really get some numbers onto
    their lists.

So initially they know that they aren't going to make a dime or indeed be
at a loss at the beginning.

Then after that they can just focus on ad swaps.

    NO MONEY required list building.

You have to ask as many questions as you can prior to buying too.

But of course waiting around for sellers to get back to you can become
    very time consuming too.

For me networking with other marketers is by far the BEST way to get the
best insider tips for buying traffic.

Become a strong supportive affiliate for other people's launches.

    Get onto their leader boards.

Let them know you're here to help them for the long haul and they will be more
than happy to return the favor to you.

Strategies alone won't get you where you want to be online.

You've gotta get to know people, interact, help, share, build those
    relationships.

Hope that gives you some food for thought.

    Gavin
