Starting an Internet Marketing Consulting Business - Suggestions for rates and ?

I'm starting an Internet Marketing consulting business and I'm wondering what to charge. What is the going rate for consulting? Is $75/hr too low?

Also, when you meet with someone to get started, how do you charge? I've already taken a look at his site and gave him some suggestions and a quick overview of the game plan. So, we're on to the next step. If I am also planning on developing a one page sales letter for his site, should I just incorporate that into the price and ask for 50% down, and then collect the other 50% upon completion?

Do you have a set number of hours that you meet with the client on a project, or do you not put a number on it and just keep track of the hours as you go? If you just keep track as you go, how to you come up with the amount of the 50% deposit?

Also, do you guys get a cut of the revenue, or increased revenue? If so, what percentage, how do you keep track, and how and how often do you collect?

I have a computer tech business and I'm used to getting paid on the spot and am not sure what the common protocol is for Internet Marketing.

TIA

    1) Have you consulted for anyone as yet ? one of the things a savy costumer will ask you is for examples or references.

    2) Google consultants in that field and look into their rates and go less if you have yet to build up a rep and portfolio of clients.

    3) also charge what you feel a customer would pay you. What would you pay you for your services if you were the customer ? ( you have to step out of your skin for this one and think as if looking at you from another s point of view and examine all the aspects just as a customer would )

    Hey there

Don't let experience hold you back! You don't need any experience consulting
businesses to earn money from them. All you need to do is setup a local business
listing for them. Learn more about this money making method on this thread
