    Is that some new trend?
Not at all. I was selling resale rights reports before the Internet even existed.

Can you actualy make some money from rebranding someone's products and selling as your own?
    Absolutely.

It's nothing new and yes, it works a charm.

Just comes down to your marketing skills.

    There are catches though:
    1. Is the content actually good?
    2. Is the content still relevant (especially SEO related stuff, if you're into selling that kind of PLR)

I know some people selling high-quality PLR's, but I also know that the majority of PLR packages are poor quality (to put it mildly.)

Before you decide to buy such a product and re-sell it under your name, it's best that you become an expert yourself in the niche. Only then can you really gauge the product's true quality. Otherwise, you risk alienating most of your customers, and you also risk getting a lot of refunds.

This pretty much sums it up. The only exception is if you believe in the churn and burn method of marketing. Then again, considering how marketing is moving towards a brand-based model, I don't suggest that model.

It is true that a lot of PLR is awful, but that shouldn't put you off looking for the good stuff. I started making money from PLR ebooks in 2002 and it is still a valid business strategy now. So long as you source good products and spend the time and effort in rewriting them so that they become unique products, then all should be well!

Here's what PLR is really good for.

You read it and rewrite it so that it's yours.

While doing this you update it, add all of your tips and tricks that you know on that subject and then put a new cover on it and you have a product or a freebie to build your list.

Using PLR as is. No, I wouldn't do that.

For the price they want you to pay for so called, 'new' PLR, you could just as easily pay someone else to write original articles.

    PLR is awesome!

    Example:

    1. You buy the PLR rights to a "Learn Guitar" course (ebook) and rebrand it a bit to make it your own.

(it could be a product in ANY niche or on ANY topic)

    2. You put up a website with a sales page to sell the course.

    3. You drive traffic to the website (targeted traffic)

    4. People buy the course and you keep 100% of the money --> and you didn't have to create the course yourself!

You could alternatively publish it as a Kindle ebook, turn it into recurring membership website modules, put it on a CD and sell it on eBay, etc. the possibilities are ENDLESS...

    What's the catch?

Other people will also have the rights to resell the same product.

However, that doesn't really matter, because in ANY business, there are going to be hundreds of other people (if not thousands) that are selling the same thing -- and there's plenty of money to go around for everyone.

Also, ~80% of people that purchase the PLR will never do anything with it anyway (unfortunately) so the competition is usually a lot less than most people think.

    Anyway, hope that helps!

PLR is a great way to cut through the process of creating your own product, and sales copy. You also have the option of using the PLR to help construct your own product. You can make money from PLR, as long as you know how to get the offer in front of a targeted audience.

PLR rebranded and updated with your spin and knowledge can be a great bridge to your own product creation.

I recently developed three gifts for my own list that I'll give you and anyone else here who needs help figuring out PLR (and you can have PLR rights to them, too). Here they are -no opt in or anything, just download the zip file - hope it helps...

    1. How to Use PLR to Brand Yourself on Social Networking Sites: http://d382nbmv90hp6j.cloudfront.net...rkingSites.zip

    2. How to Research slants for Your PLR:

    3. How to Build a Complete Cash Funnel Using PLR:

There are times you use PLR as is, if you want, times you tweak for a simple personality injection, and times you should use it as a springboard only.

And I'll add - Tiffany's PLR is at the very top of the quality scale. Seriously. Check out her website (plrminimart.com) and buy in confidence.

I agree, I have about 40 of Tiffany's PLR packages and they're very good.

A good majority of PLR content is definitely crap. If you plan to buy PLR and resell it, I would suggest hiring someone with a good understanding of the English language to rewrite the content so that it makes sense.

Yes, but please put some new knowledge of yours first, make it better, 'cause 80% of the PLR ebooks are cr*p and then sell it.

Deliver more and your profits will be higher.
The client will be happy with the content, you'll be happy with the money, it'll be a win-win situation.

Don't use it on your site. Google Panda can screw you up. Instead, buy PLR and come up with derivative materials.

You can make some money with it. You have to really get creative, and most of the time the content isn't the highest of quality. But if you're able to find a good looking product with PLR rights, it might be interesting to set up your own little sales funnel and flip it real quick.

There is an awful lot of bad PLR out there, and I've bought a lot myself that is pretty much unusable, even when re-written. However, there are a few very good PLR creators out there, many of whom are members of WF and are regular contributors here like Tiffany Dow.

Some of the PLR vendors I have purchased from and can highly recommend are:

    Tiffany Dow
    JR Lang
    Lisa Stoops
    Ruth Pound
    Tom Parker
    Nathan Devlin
    Gail Trahd
    Justin Popovic
    Alvy Barnes

There are others as well I haven't listed, and this is certainly not an all-inclusive list by any means, but these are the PLR creators I have actually purchased from and found their material to be top notch.

Buy good quality PLR form one of these vendors and rebrand it a bit by rewriting some of it, creating a new cover, sales page and so forth, and you will have a good product that you will be able to sell or give away with confidence to your subscribers and visitors.

almost all the PLR products are just bunch of crap. If you are willing to buy a PLR product with resale rights bear in mind that you need to spend some bucks on rewriting the whole product. Otherwise you gonna end up refunding your customers

What's the catch? Well, sooner or later it starts to be given away for free. Most PLR vendors say you mustn't do this, but once it's done it's done, and there's not a lot they can do to prevent it. Then your chance of selling your PLR pack drops to zero. Even if it's not given away free, people start discounting massively, and it becomes a race to the bottom, price wise. Secondly, people put PLR articles directly onto a website or blog without making any changes. This lands them with a duplicate content slap from Google.

Personally, I only use PLR as bonuses with a paid offer, or for re-purposing (turning articles into videos etc.).
