Posting On MSN Forum/Comment Boards

I posted a couple of comments on MSN before I even knew about the power of forum marketing if done right and correctly. Anyway, There were a couple of articles dealing with saving money and different tips. one of people's biggest bills is their home and auto insurance. Being an agent in Michigan, I put some comments with advice, probably 50-70 words and included a link to save on home and auto insurance, directed to my website. A couple of comments were removed and my email is now banned. Needless to say, I'm not doing it anymore. I didn't even realize I was doing anything wrong and thought it fit perfect and was actually helpful. I did generate a lot of quotes in the meantime. is there a way to do this without it being looked at as wrong/spammy. Is it just plain outright spam and I'm missing it? Also, is it illegal? I hope not. For now, I guess I just refuse to do it unless I hear otherwise.

Every forum is different and has 'its way of doing things'.

Probably better to observe and then post a few helpful comments first before considering putting more sales focused content, and most definitely before posting links to your sales sites.

If you were sitting in your local pub or social club and a stranger entered, joined in your conversation and suggested you buy something from him / her would you react well?

If the person joining the conversation was someone you had been aware of for a while and had you started to respect their opinion would you react differently if they recommended something to you?

If you look at forums from this perspective you probably will do well so don't give up or react badly - get back in there.

I agree to ppc4profit. You need to explore each forums and see how other established members are using it. Usually most forums allows you to include signature links. So you should always stick to those links and never provide link within your posts.
