Why Are Fiverr Members Not Promoting Their Gigs

I see a lot of people ask on the Fiverr forums, why am I not getting any sales? I honestly do not understand how some people believe they can put a gig on Fiverr and then expect to receive sales without doing any promotion.

Each day when I look at the Fiverr forum there are people asking the same question, how do I get more sales, or my sales have gone down. When you ask what they do to promote their gigs they say nothing.

If you want to earn money from Fiverr then you have to promote your services, just like you would with any other business.

I have put together some ideas on promoting your Fiverr gigs.

1. Send our a press release about your service. A press release gives people a big impact on their service. By having a press release and distributing it the right way, you will then reach many people who would be interested in your service.

2. Use Social Networks. Use social networks to promote your services. Use all the popular ones which include Twitter and Facebook and the many other services out there. When using Twitter use the hashtag for Fiverr and promote your services.

3. Write Articles. Another great way to increase exposure for your service is to write articles. By writing articles about your Fiverr service, you are increase the exposure and gaining a reputation as an expert. Do not just write about your service, write about things that are relevant to your service and put some sentences in an author box about your Fiverr gig.

If you are on Fiverr then do not just sit back, promote your services to earn money.

Nice TIPs to promote gig and increase sales. But there are some people who are lucky to lot of sales with any promotions. Like fiverr promotes some gigs to recommended category and sales starts to increase then if you deliver your orders faster and get reviews than your gig will get good position in High rating category and you keep earning handsome income.

Some people on Fiverr, i would say probably the majority of the seller base, has no experience in promotion or marketing. They don't know that in order to get more sales you would have to promote your gig. Many people just assume that once you publish your gig, you'll start seeing sales role in within the day, which is why many turn to the forums with these types of posts/

It is the same with a lot of small business owners. They put a website online and think they are going to get a lot of customers buy their products or services.

Yeah most sellers on Fiverr are complete newbies in the online business world. I doubt too many of them know what they're doing when it comes to marketing their services.

Everyone looks at it as a "quick cash" kind of deal. I'd rather be on the other end utilizing the seller's gig for my profit. You can take the $5, I'll take the investment risk.

Because Fiverr's original idea was to create a self-contained marketplace without outside promotion. That is still its reputation. Where you just wander around and see what people will do for 5 dollars.

People who have a base to promote their work to do not need Fiverr, unless they are looking for a payment processor. it is a place to make a quick buck, not a living.

Fiverr reserves the right upfront to place gigs in any order they want and in aggregate Fiverr makes a profit, but individual sellers who make a consistent good income are rare.

I have seen a lot of these so called great books that help people to make good money on fiverr. People I know have been silly enough to buy them and have made no difference. When I have looked at one or two of the authors, I have seen they do not get many sales and are using the book to make money. This is why most of these authors will not share their details on Fiverr. My advice, stay clear from these books on making money on Fiverr and other networks.

Just think about it for a minute: You promote your Gig and Fiverr takes
a 20% cut for doing what? Hosting your Gig? Delivering your Gig?

It's not easy to promote a $4 item and make a profit in the process.
Fiverr should be promoting your Gig, not the other way around.

It is not just about fiverr, it is about all networks, and not just about freelance networks, as mentioned it is also about small businesses. I am shocked that no matter what field a person is in, either they are using sites like people per hour, fiverr, or if they have a website to promote their building services, if they do not promote, they will not get customers.

People have to understand, the Internet is not a magic tool, you cannot put a website on there to sell cuddly toys and then expect to receives loads of sales. People have to treat the internet in the same way if it was not there.

If they had a shop or have a shop, without the internet they would not just open their doors and hope everyone is going to start running in and buy things. They would advertise in newspapers, they would launch promotions, and this is what people have to do with the internet.

There are so many tools available for a business to promote themselves online, but people are not using them. You do not have to be an expert to produce a video to put online to promote a business or a freelance service.

What I am trying to get across is, people cannot just sit down and think everyone is going to run to them and buy their products or services. What you put in is what you get out, as my old teacher said many years ago.
