What product do you promote on this niche?

Or do you recommend products from direct selling companies?

Have you ever thought to promote weight loss affiliate review sites?

A better thing to do is forget what we promote here and research beyond WF. If you're dead set on the weight loss market, you need to research the market. Specifically: you're looking for gaps and ways to fill those gaps. Weight loss trumps even MMO for competition, so you have your work cut out.

Beyond what's already been said, weight loss is a huge horizontal market. It's not a niche. There are so many different weight loss target markets that your first order of business should be to analyze the demand in this market and narrow your targets of interest down to very specific weight loss problems/wants. If you stick with just "weight loss" you will have almost no chance of success - it's waaaaay to general.

Steve couldn't have said it any better. By just choosing weight loss you're lowering your chances of success greatly. Narrow down your market to a specific demographic or interest.

The weight loss industry can be split into dozens of
    different sub-niches.

Find one that interests you and research the hell out
    the market.

Build a list, survery them, sell them, entertain them, and
become what I call an "Inbox Celebrity".

    -Tony

P.S. - The best place for this market is Fb groups and forums.
Pay attention to what they say and HOW they say it.

Most important thing: Identify your ultimate customer and build an avatar to you know how to talk to them and target the right audience.

    Age
    Gender
    Location
    Goals
    Income
    Health situation
    Etc.

A severely overweight 50 year old diabetic white man in Georgia is very different than a 24 year old black woman in San Francisco who needs to lose 10 pounds. Both want to lose weight, but you need to know your audience to figure out how to talk to and target them.

Here's a good link on Avatars (personas).

The weight loss niche is highly competitive. Make sure you target specific areas (micro-niche) of weight loss. Do your research and find a product to push based on the information you gather after doing your research.

Lots of potential customers for weight loss niche, however you need to narrow it down more. Do you want to talk to brides-to-be who want to lose that one last dress size to fit into the gown? What about new moms trying to shed the belly fat? Or, elderly men who want to be more fit and active to prolong life? Write down all the possible people you could market a weight loss product or site to and ask yourself why they would want to read what you have to say or buy the products you recommend. And, then start narrowing the list down to just people you would want to talk with. And, as someone suggested before, go strong on email marketing for any niche you choose.

I'm pretty heavily entrenched in the "weight-loss" niche. I've found success here, although I'm largely still just building out foundation. My approach was picking a niche within that industry "low-carb" and then slowly transitioned it into a low-carb paleo kind of thing ... a niche within a niche ... even here, I could see how a career could be made from being the king or queen of "Paleo Pizza" ... and just spend years peddling recipes, ingredients, weight loss stories, intros to cross fit programs, parchment paper, pizza stones, etc.

    A niche within a niche within a niche ...

Just to add a layer of overwhelm...

Once you have your avatar nailed down it won't just be weight loss products you can sell to them. For example I know of one fellow in the weight loss (or ripped and shredded niche) who also sells dating products.

Without knowing a lot about his business I'd ass-u-me he's targeting single 20 something blokes who are all about the guns and getting ... a good night sleep next to an attractive woman.
