Millionaire Warriors ...

Hi fellow Warriors. Just dropping by to get a feel for
the mindset of newer members of the forum... and perhaps
to adjust it a little.

I joined this forum somewhere back around the turn of
the century. I'm not really sure what year. We've switched
platforms twice since then if memory serves me correctly. Many
of the older posts weren't migrated over to the current
platform.

Anyway, as I browse the current forum, I sense a LOT of
negativity, and also see that many of you don't appreciate
the potential wealth that you can extract from just
reaching out and making a few REAL connections on this very
forum.

I've met at least a dozen millionaires on this forum... many
of whom made their money in other niches, but fully appreciate
the value of the information available just from "listening"
to the conversation on this forum.

Heck, I co-authored an ebook that did over $200,000 in sales
just by asking ONE question on this forum, and then using
that response as the topic of the ebook.

Many of your fellow Warriors do reach out and try to teach you
things that will make you MILLIONS if you will just listen :-)

An example is my close friend, the late Vegas Vince, who got
former owner of Warrior Forum, Allen Says' blessings to teach
a course in barter... on this very forum. Vince taught a
course called "Liberation 101."

Vince parlayed what he was teaching into a course called Barter
Arbitrage, which is responsible for making me a fortune. In the
recordings of the course, Vince mentions that the late "Jim"
James F. Straw was one of his heroes and fellow "horse traders."

Jim Straw hung out on this forum, but more importantly, Jim
is the FIRST Warrior that I know who sold a $997 ebook. I
PERSONALLY sold copies of that ebook... at 50% commission, and
grew to appreciate that people would actually pay $997 for an
EBOOK!

Jim made over $400 million before I personally became friends
with him. After we became friends, I picked his mind any time
that I spent a day or more in Atlanta. He was an absolute
genius... and "a Warrior!"

Getting back to barter, that's a multi-BILLION dollar industry,
that MOST of the world knows NOTHING about... but that I make
money from every day... and I learned the business from two
fellow Warriors. I buy things for 10 - 15 cents on the dollar,
and sell things for 7 - 25 times what they cost me :-)

Most of the Warriors that I know sell info products but you
have Warriors who sell about any product imaginable from
real estate, to porn, to therapy, to physical products. You
have a real goldmine here. You job is to find the nuggets,
and to also throw back the "fools gold" :-)

This forum really is priceless. The connections that you can
make here, if you are genuine, are also priceless!

What is there to adjust? Negativity to one person is a healthy skepticism to another. Do you want to feed the dream or prepare for reality? I guess that depends on one's intent here.

This forum was never going to revolve around the sale of "make money online" info products forever. A lot of former WarriorForum "celebrities" need an MMO niche revival for them to reclaim their glory, but it isn't going to happen. That niche is circling the toilet bowl.

The discussions on this forum are more diverse than they have ever been. With that is going to come some negativity as people align themselves with one thing and are maybe critical of another. Whereas you could make the argument that even just five years ago this forum was a one way street and thus there wasn't any room for negativity.

        From Willie Crawford's YouTube channel.....

Older folks. Probably short on retirement funds and looking for a source of hope. Someone has convinced them that it's a great idea to launch an online based business (and probably spend three or four figures learning how to do it).

I fell for the dream back in 2005 and have been supporting my family pretty much ever since, and in a real big way over the last couple of years.

These "older folks" you are referencing also did not have guns pointed at their heads to start their online businesses. They made a conscious decision based on information presented to them.

Whether they were able to succeed or not is entirely on their skillset and ability to find the right information to get them where they wanted to go.

I see a lot of younger folks in that video too.

            You're wasting your time, Jason.

The real shame is these guys lying to themselves and others by trying to say it's reality checks when it's painfully obvious what it really is.

I would challenge you to find one post I've made on this forum that shows me being overly negative towards anything but the MMO info product sellers slithering around this business.

Eric's post which was deleted. Even so, all you have to do is look at the way you phrased this post. You are all about negativity.

lol What's next, find something you said about a parrot with one eye? Negativity is negativity, you don't get a pass because of the subject matter.

You know whats funny about you MMO guys?

One thing in common is that you sell that you don't preach.

Another common thing is that we can often find reviews in each others sales thread.

And to top it of that thére's an awful lot of Thanks circle jerking between you guys.

People think wow, he has a lot of reviews, wow he has a lot of thanks, but they have no idea that it's one huge circulation between you MMO guys and that few come from people who actually find it helpful.

That's a way to keep an industry going.

                          Pathetic at best!

And then to realize that I might need favors from guys like you when I am launching my new keyword research tool and writers platform, well I rather sell a LOT less.

ps: I always hated this MMO clan, nothing new and I never sold an ebook myself despite tons of people suggesting it, neither did I waste my time on all the product review requests I got which is obvious an easy way to get into the circle and profit from it, Not my style of making money online. Back to work on my review sites where people buy real stuff that they need, like rice cookers lol.

Funny, this guy is telling me I'm a MMO guy and one who doesn't do what he preaches. Something tells me you don't have a clue to what I sell.

Look at who has their signature filled up and who doesn't.

Love the hating and nik0 is a straight up hater. You can see it in many of his posts yet he will sell his wares on the very same forum he hates. Love the hypocrisy.

          First, you're speculating.

Second, why implicitly assume older folks are stupid and don't know what they are doing?

Third, OK, assume they're short on retirement funds. Your plan for fixing the problem is what? Working for minimum wage as a greeter at Wal-Mart until they die?

Or, maybe putting their expertise, life skills and knowledge acquired during the last 50 years to good use and making money online?

Fourth, since when is spending three figures bad? Even four? Do you expect them to go back to college for the next four years acquiring a new degree, paying five, maybe six figures?

Fifth, are you saying they have no hope? They should forget trying to better themselves and have a more fulfilling last few years. Other than buying the folks bullets, or criticizing Willie for something you're just making up, what is your plan to help someone in this situation?

Sixth, do you know anyone in the video? Do you know what they are discussing? What their plans are? What assistance they may be seeking?

Seventh, if you think making money online is just a dream, and then there's reality (and implicitly money cannot be made) why are you here?

I'll give you this: there's a ton of crap around here and in IM, scams, schemes, people selling magic bullets who haven't a clue what they are doing or made a dime, and then there are those with a wee bit of experience who have made a wee bit of money - like Willie - who offer a post trying to help others profit from the forum.

I wonder if someone might fill me in on what I'm missing here...

Personally, I don't find the original post neither particularly profound -- but nor do I find it particularly offensive.

Basically the OP is saying that we can learn from people on the WF and that he once sold a really, really expensive book. OK, good for him. Not really that informative, but at the same time it's not like he just told us he likes to torture kittens by making them listen to Justin Bieber albums on repeat.

So can anyone tell me why so many people (both supporters and detractors) seem to be getting their panties in a twist in this thread? I just don't see what the controversy is about...

Yeah, it looks like you missed a few things.

Many won't be able to get the most out of this forum because they are focused on negative things.

A big thing is networking with successful people and this forum provides a way to do so. Willie offered up some examples of that type of networking and how it helped him in his business.

Roth slammed a dead guy that nobody outside of gooroo worshipers have any clue about (but somehow he is a $400+ million legend). Then I responded with a video of the demographic.

            You're right. No biggie.

Originally Posted by kindsvater View Post

That wasn't the intended implication of that post and I think most people know that. If you saw a video shot at Ad:Tech or PubCon and there were some "older" people (however you want to define that) in the crowd, you think nothing of it. You know the road that got them there is likely a legitimate one since actual industry professionals of all demographics took the same road to arrive there.

The above video, however, is very concerning. Not because of who is there, but because of who is not there. I have no idea who set that up or what path those people went down to arrive at that point, but they lost the younger (possibly "more aware") crowd along the way and that is a valid point of concern.

After he died every jackass on this forum claimed to have been friends with him and how they picked his brain (I guess meaning they now possess his knowledge..... so buy their info products!). It's a cheap way of propping themselves up using a dead guy that isn't around to say "do I know you?"

The worst case was one guy in particular who claimed to have been given secret stock market advice by Straw that he wasn't to sell until after Straw died. That's the level of nonsense that goes on around here with the memory of this man.

Cool post Willie. Thanks for sharing.

To address Dubdot's point, I certainly agree that a healthy skepticism is important, as is divergence of opinion and constructive criticism.

But if I guess right about Willie's point, this is not the breed of "negativity" he's talking about. I'm a long time warrior, and I've felt this feeling too. It's a kind of negativity that's hard to pin down.

It's a general argumentativeness perhaps, but a snide one rather than a wisdom seeking one. It's an overconfidence; an over attachment to the rightness of one's own view maybe? And there's a kind of aggression underlying so many posts... like the fact we've all been ripped off, and so many people are out to get us has made us take our frustrations out on one another?

I'm not exactly sure, but it's something like this that seems to be "new" to the forum in the last couple of years, and strange to old warriors.

And in light of that, it certainly doesn't hurt to be reminded how many wise, honest, decent business people there still are lurking between these walls.

    Thanks again Willie.

This forum has always kind of been the saloon in the wild west of Internet marketing. I think the presence of a range of attitudes demonstrates that this is the real deal though. You need a thick skin around here, but if you stay on the horse and focus on the value you can do quite well.

While the roots of the whole IM movement have always been planted in the MMO niche, I've never found it at all appealing, anyway. The thing is, though, the skills and techniques these guys have been using to make money off each other are worth vastly more if you turn them around to the offline world. I dare say practically everyone reading this is within walking distance of a storefront business in need of a web presence that will pay plenty for the some of simplest tricks in your bag. This is where the future of IM lies and it's an endless frontier full of gold mines.

    Ohhh this thread is ugly.

One guy insults a person he's never met, calling him a chump, then makes disparaging remarks about an ebook he's never read.

And another guy sees a 2 minute video & successfully makes 4 baseless assumptions in a single comment, about an event he wasn't at, and a set of people he doesn't know.

    Ugh,

I know a lot of people have little reverence in this Forum. But Willie is the real deal and a Legend.

We should be grateful that he does come on this Board every once and awhile to offer tid bits of really solid information.

From some of the disrespectful remarks here, I understand why he doesn't come back more often

I would pay $1K for an E book if it was worth it.

Hell I would gladly pay $5K to $10K if the information was worth it.

Success is all about Mindset. Some people are lucky and understand this early while many are 'locked' in an iron and concrete box because they aren't willing to look at things differently.

One of my Millionaire Mentors taught me this (this guy started out as a police officer in who went on to make Millions from IM)...

    Marketing is ONLY 5%

    'Mindset' is the other 95%

Thanks for the excellent Post Willie!

Same. : ) I'm even thinking of (eventually) spending something like 5K for advice to advance my Personal Development blog.

      True. Well said.

      P.S.
I really like the way you think Rory. Thanks for sharing your insights.

$5k is a lot of money for advice. Why not just look at what your competition is doing?

We're not talking Coca-Cola's top secret recipe. There is nothing your competition is doing that isn't out wide in the open for you to break down yourself.

I suppose it depends how you look at it. If that advice makes me another $1500/Month (or more) then I'd consider it money well spent. : )

Well good luck with that if you choose to go down that road. Just be sure to seek out someone for consulting services that isn't actively offering it in the form of a course or whatever. That sort of stuff is produced for mass appeal. If you zero in on someone who you think can help you out that normally doesn't make a business of doing that, you'll be more apt to get the keys to the kingdom rather than thrown only enough breadcrumbs to keep you coming back for more and more and more and more.......

the mindset of newer members of the forum... and perhaps
    to adjust it a little.

Thanks for the post Willie, you're the man! When you talk I listen, as should others.

    Cheers!

  • DubDubDubDot, you're very categorical in your statements. The type of reassurance that only should be used when "you've been there, done it, got the t-shirt".

I would like to know if you walk the talk, or you're just another charlatan (like the "gooroos" you so vehemently condemn). So, DubDubDubDot... what is your business revenue level? Do you indeed walk the talk or are you just another penniless charlatan?

Wow real talk here Willi! Most people don't see it but the WF is a goldmine. Where else can you find so many fellow or like minded people and where else can you find people which are interested or even related to Internet marketing? I guess nowhere else.
People which are new to this forum should take it as the opportunity as it is to learn more skills get knowledge make friends and to make money with.

The problem with the forum now, especially since the most recent takeover, is that there are very few marketers left. Mostly just people looking to make a quick buck.
