Is This A Good YouTube Strategy?

If I just post loads of "How Tos" for different software packages and "hidden features that will blow your mind" for macs, iphones etc. and just create a ton of videos, am I guaranteed decent money per month after a while? Or does the content itself have to be incredible, not just interesting?

You will need to see if there is a demand for that "How to"

The amount of money earned will depend on how you will monetize your visitor/traffic.

You could be using Adsense, selling your own products, selling other people products etc etc...

The law of averages would suggest I could make plenty and see what sticks, though? I just meant through the videos that YT shows before high-view vids - would that generate a decent income for a 100,000-1,000,000 hits vid?

    Okay...

I send volume from video marketing, so I'll try to get you steered in the right direction.

Video marketing is a science and you have to approach it as such. Do it right, you stand to build incredible passive income; do it wrong, you stand to waste your time.

4 Tips to Get You Going:

    1. SEO Videos (Ex. YT Search, Google, Yahoo, Bing.)
    2. User Engagement (exploit the viral potential)
    3. Watchable Videos (bounce rate hurts ranking)
    4. Great Thumbs

Treat a video a little bit like a page or a website and you'll be doing it right. The trick is to rank for the right keywords and secure positions both on the internal search engine and externally on places like Google.

Thanks Tom. And does it have to be all my own vids or can I chop and paste bits that I've seen? (Not necessarily off youtube, just in general)

Welcome, buddy. It must be your own work. Many reasons for this; not the least of which is the issue of copyright. You should look into into software, including services for whiteboards and animation; mix it up; more tools, the better!

I don't think you can actually monetize a video that has clips in it that you don't own. Though maybe the TOS of Youtube have changed to allow this. You should check out the TOS before creating any type of video mash up.

You can make your own videos out of existing ones if you search specificially for CC (Creative Commons) videos in the YT video editor.

These can be monetized by showing ads.

But you need to be aware that you select the right kind of background music - you need to select tracks that allow you to receive the money. Otherwise the folks who own the rights to the music will get the major share.

        Take care

It depends on how attractive and interesting you can make them. the more fun they are the bigger your audience.

I don't think you're "guaranteed" anything to be frank. However the 'ol Google adage "content is king" is still prevalent in my opinion, and that applies to You Tube videos as well.

If you create videos with quality content then you will be rewarded in the search rankings. But making money through your own affiliate offers really depends on a lot more factors such as how much your product costs, competition you have and factors like that.

  • I would advise running a campaign to promote other's products if you build a decent size following - that should be a steady income. You can make some videos initially for your own products that you get affiliate revenue from, but focus on the videos at first, then do direct products for companies if you can.

I believe a monitized video on youtube that get a million views is paid out at about 5k. So if you made a lot of videos, that lots of people enjoy watching you could make some money. Of course if you add some affiliate links in your descriptions you could potentially monitize from those as well.

There's no point in questioning the guarantee. This industry is always about testing and tweaking. You won't know and won't make results happen, if you're sitting on the fence.

Embrace it and adjust things and you go.

If your competitor's content is interesting, make yours incredible.

If your competitor's content is incredible, market better yours.

If you can't compete then choose an easier and profitable niche, keyword research is the key here.

Tips: Love what you do and content creation will be easier.
