Hi,

Im a newby when it comes to affiliate marketing but i heard that its a great way to get my products out there. We sell hard products (not downloadables)

Whats the best way to start? I heard of Clickbank but is that mainly for downloadable products?

Please shed some light on some vendor/affiliate websites i could use to contact affiliates or if you recommend a different way please share it with me?

Looking forward to hearing anything which may help...

    • Try commission junction
    • You might want to check out http://2checkout.com

      They have a good platform.

      Also
    • Warrior Forum is a great place to find affiliates because this is a forum mostly of internet marketers and there is already an affiliate system in place for you to sell your product and collect and distribute commissions.
    • +1 for commission junction, best for physical products that I have found personally.

  • What kind of products are you selling?

    • Hi, sorry only replying now. We sell baby products online.
  • Are you currently selling products on a website now?

Does your shopping cart have an affiliate "add-on"?

I thought there was a place on WF to list your affiliate program, but all I found was this:

    Warrior Joint Ventures

However you look at it, everything starts from having proven conversions of targeted traffic.

You need to start by being successful at marketing it yourself.

Otherwise you can fall into the classic trap of being able to attract some good affiliates, but not being able to retain them (which is what matters) if the sales page/system isn't fully tweaked, tested, affiliate-friendly and proven to convert.

Be aware that ("broadly speaking"/"oversimplifying") there are two pretty distinct "classes" of affiliates available: the 95+% of affiliates who collectively make very few sales, and the other less-than-5% of affiliates who, between them, bring in 95+% of the affiliate-referred sales.

The latter group (surely the ones you want?) are very often willing to look only at products promoted on a longstanding, established affiliate network such as ClickBank, where payment security and reliabity will never be an issue to them.

If you use the forum's search function by looking just in the Main Marketing Forum for threads with the words "affiliates" in their titles, you'll quickly find 100+ threads with titles like "How do I find affiliates for my product?", which are packed with additional, useful ideas and suggestions.

    Good luck!

  • I would start looking at 3 different avenues:

-Your current customers (i.e Did you know you can earn $$$ by referring your friends and family to us?)
-Where are you current competitors advertising?
-Where are you/would you like to advertise online

    • The 1st is difficult for us to track
2nd they are advertising on Google etc
We are in Dublin, Ireland and yes we would like to advertise online and are doing so
