You have done a lot. I suppose traffic is another how to you propose to get traffic to your site. I see you are in QLD

I like free press releases. If you use the right keyword phrases in the release they are picked up by google.Easy to get a front page listing and of course it's hyperlinked to your main page.

I would have liked a phone number featured on the homepage.

I'll take another look later in more detail

      Hello,

      I own a roofing company.

Ring, Ring, Ring....makes service companies the most money...not ding, ding, ding....from your phone
saying it has another newsletter subscriber.

When people visit my website.. Erie Roofing Contractor - Erie Roofing Contractor- Brink Roofing .I don't want the signing up for a newsletter or leaving an email to market to them. I want one thing.....a phonecall or a booked estimate appointment.

If the phone isn't ringing...then you don't make money
If you don't get customers booking estimate appointments.....you don't make money.

Look at my website. It's simple, but it focuses on what a service company needs.
In less than 2 seconds, they can be calling my company to set up an estimate or clicking on the
scrolling banner to schedule an appointment immediately. I could care less about there email.
      I can't sell a customer with email.

      1. Get the appointment booked!
      2. Sell the Job!
      Make Money!

I actually do have a roofing site geared to making a list similar to what your saying, but the whole goal of that site is to generate money from the actual site. It doesn't have anything to do with my personal roofing business.

      Unless I'm missing something....

I agree with most of what you said except for the bold part. I do a lot of estimates in which I was emailed thru my website and we set up the appointment completely thru email. I even sell jobs thru email without having to go give an estimate sometimes.

The model you are using seems to be more appropriate for selling a clickbank product. I don't think a potential customer want to read books on painting.

The marketing process must be aligned with the niche. The problem they want solved here is the, ‘pain point’ of contacting a contractor and getting something painted:

    What they want:

A contractor they can trust - How will you win theirs?
competitive price - quote - work out how to explain this, on your site?
a telephone number(in large font) In your face
Fast response - immediate , 24 hours etc
    email address

I would get listed in 'Google My Business', and all the local online directories. Using coupons, may be useful. Local ly targeted youtube video showing you on job, and giving tips.

SEO - for local rankings with less competition , there are methods to get to number one in Google search.

Facebook is good but don’t worry about getting likes, just use it for exposure and offering coupons and special deals.

Autoresponder is best used in following up on previous clients, sending them a follow up email every 6-12 months, just so they remember you. Once you have say 100 customers built up on your autoresponder you should have plenty of customers.

Get a mobile site( or mobile optimized site) where your number can be tapped and you can be called fast.

We are have done the google + place page etc we are just getting on page seo ready prior to launching back linking campaign and citation creation in order to rank highly in the local serps. I was just thinking that by giving customers a ebook or short email auto responder course thingy which tells them "top 5 mistakes when choosing a painter" or something like that it would help me build a list of potential customers to market to ontop of tackle all the other marketing avenues of seo lead gen for your main website.

The slider on the main page needs work, definitely. Its a layer slider so we were gunna have information timed to slider in over the image displaying a phone number and a quote form.

Uploading video segments of our "sand paper training video" etc so our customers could understand how we train our staff, what type of equipment we use, the type of finishes we produce. that would be great to do so the thought behind it was to put enough info out there to leverage ourselves as experts rather than "call now" right ?

we were planning a 6 week follow up campaign to customers whom got quotes with us which had around 15 touches in the 6 weeks but we are yet to decide which auto responder software/service is best we were gunna stick with a weber due to being so popular with IM.

Is it advisable to scrap data of local builders, real estate agents, body corporate agencies etc in my area and send them a one off email introducing myself and my business, maybe offer the help ebook guide, or say have you seen our crap on social media? surely it cannot be complete spam as it is relevant to our industry right?

You have a very professional looking website.

However, would it be possible to migrate a few of your before/after jobs to your home page slider?

im just going to be frank here for a sec buddy hope you don't mind

your pics on the front page are not impressive. thats the very first impression you get and its mostly pics of unfinished stuff and nothing particularly interesting or unique. i'd hop right off the page.

driving traffic to your site using social media and advertising is a fantastic idea and you might as well build a list, couldn't hurt really and it runs automatically. but i do agree to a point that what your offering to your subscribers may not particularly be interesting or useful to them, but it may be. the point is exposure and branding. use the emails to give discounts and run promotions, too.

oh also you're missing instagram, a picture sharing app that would be great as a portfolio for you as well as branding opportunity.

i agree that you want a call now. big number at the top like the roofing contractor.

another idea is to sell particular tools or resources that would make it easier for your customers to
''save thousands'' there's definitely potential there i've seen that with other businesses. you have all the supplies in stock, why not resell to public.

anyways hope that helps have a good one

First thing, yes, your site looks professional. However, there are no icons on your site, that you mention above (created a FB,Twitter,Google+,Linkedin and insta page and filled out all the profile etc)!

In addition to that, you said that you have developed a free ebook teaching customers that not all contractors are the same, so they can save thousands.

However, no where on your site/pages do I see an Optin-page for the free e-book, etc.

Not only that, all of the information is all the same on all of your tabs --- nothing different!

Therefore, I think that you need to revisit your site and address some of the "glaring issues" that I have commented on and mentioned. Again, this is just my observation, and some "constructive criticism".

If you need further help, please PM me and I will try to provide you with some further information to help you --- for free!

When I visited your site I noticed a couple things...

The pictures at the top are quite big and it took a little too long to load the page. I would shrink them down to half that size so you can see there is more info below. That's your prime real estate before they have to scroll down. Get some reasons why they should use you up there and a link to your reviews right at the top.

Fast Service, Your warranty, Phone Number, Quality First, Clean Up, Years in Business(if it is 5+)

Your site looks very professional but you call yourself small. That would put me off, it isn't congruent. I would think twice about using a small company. Might want to just delete that word. This is your first contact with a prospective customer, you just want them to contact you.

Once you get them on the phone, you can use the fact you are small to increase trust by telling them you are a small operation and the owner will be on the site to ensure a quality job. etc.

Just a few thoughts from a homeowner who has needed painting in the past. And waited days for contractors to return a call to get an estimate.

I'd go with with what Offline Otis & Electrical said. Why? Because they are actually doing what you are wanting to do - generating sales for a service business through a website .

IMO, using the internet to promote a local service business such as yours is like driving a Lamborghini for running errands around town.

There is a huge global market in DIY (do-it-yourself) that you should be able to easily tap into with your specialized experience and writing skills.

Consider combining your local marketing effort with a global outreach. Using essentially the same marketing model you already have in place, offer recommended books, products, supplies etc on the strength of your professional credentials.

This "synergistic" marketing approach can build up your local business as well as add leverage for promoting relevant affiliate products outside of your service area.

Seems a lot of Internet suggestions have been made. So, lets go over the offline stuff.

    Have you printed business cards?
    If so...
Do you offer a bonus/discount for clients who tell their friends? Great place for this is on the back of your business card (Either with a note on the front mentioning to check the back, or you telling them).

Have you tried Flyers and Brochures? Another great place to put a bonus/discount.

One thing I suggest to local contractors is to visit local breakfast shops and see who has table mats with local business information on them. Then, ask the owner how you can get your information on those mats.

As a painter, I'm sure you do a lot of driving. Do you have your business and contact info on your vehicles? Painting things on your vehicles can be extremely expensive... Luckily there are magnet signs for vehicles! (This worked great for my brothers cable wiring business)

Offline Otis and Teravel have it right.

I have been in offline business since 1989. Semi retired now.

You just need the call. You want a phone call. When you get a customer you know their home address. This is much more powerful than an email address. If you get short of work send a real letter with a special deal to your existing customers.

Your website is only to get the call so it must look good enough and clear enough to get them picking up the phone. So much more I could say. But good luck with your business.
