a question about paid traffic

Hi

Lets say I have found a niche and the average monthly searches are close to 100,000 for just one particular keyword. Now i know i obviously have zero chance whatsoever of ranking for this keyword. But is it possible to pay for the traffic and see it convert well?

Now according to Googles keyword planner the average cpc is £1.26
I was thinking of going all out and paying top whack for professional salespages copy and a top landing page designed.

Then again pay top dollar to have an ebook on this niche written for me. Would I be able to make sales if implemented properly? and if so how much could i charge for the ebook?

Assuming there's a demand for it then yes of course. There are numerous ways to target an audience, so if you can get in front of them, there's always a chance. I would never personally promote an offer directly, but if that's something you intend on doing, then you'll have to run some tests.

Nothing is guaranteed. Is it a sustainable / evergreen niche? If you have the right structure in place and market to them the right way, then sure there's chances of making money.

With regards to the pricing, you'll have to research it. If your audience are used to buying $30-$40 products, then possibly go for those figures. Maybe you'll even want to give it away, provide value and promote in the back-end, which is where most of the money you'll make will come from anyway.

It's really going to come down to your take on things. Build a structure and test it. This industry is all about testing and tweaking. Don't hesitate, just get it done and keep moving forward.

      its certainly an evergreen niche
and i hear what you're saying about giving it away for free and making money on the back end
but this is my first shot at im and i am just looking to make my first $500 -$1000

Once i have it clear in my mind that I CAN ACTUALLY make this making money online thing work for me then I will invest big and make an authority site, build a list, etc

      thats my plan anyway.

Doggie, you're onto a very important point here.. Once you are paying for traffic, it becomes something of a level playing field.

Don't forget the other type of traffic, that's free, but not SEO.. social

Let me give you food for thought.

As a few here know, I'm a fan of PPC marketing. Indeed, a fan of good traffic derived from pretty much every ethical means. That being said: I devote time and money to PPC. Now that my rather pithy resume is out of the way...

    Which is better:

A single search term that receives 100,000 searches a month and costs $2 a click; or one-hundred search terms that each receive 1,000 searches a month and cost $0.05 a click?

One of the tricks to PPC marketing is finding a killer term with low CPC. It has numerous advantages; spreading risk, increasing EPC, and uncovering profitable terms being just three.

You've got this backwards...only fools start out with PPC.

Learn how to convert your traffic first.

    Then set up a funnel.

Then start driving traffic, slowly at first.

When you get your funnel converting and producing a ROI, then roll out the big guns.

BigDougie hasn't actually said which PPC platform he's
intending to use, and might find cheaper rates elsewhere.
Adwords tends to be the most pricey, but Facebook, Bing,
and a number of 2nd and 3rd tier SE PPC platforms can
bring fairly low click costs in even the most popular markets.

With that said, from the kind of questions BigDougie has
asked, here, I'd suggest caution. There's more to making
money than finding a popular market and throwing up a
squeeze page. And the higher the CPC price, and the more
popular the market, the more likely it is that your competition
has already honed their marketing and advertising campaigns.

It's difficult for a complete advertising and marketing newcomer
to enter a competitive market and steal sales from the pros
already in it. So please don't assume that simply by outsourcing
your copywriting and design will automatically put you in
      contention.

That's probably why Brent Says not to start in PPC - although
I don't agree that 'only fools start with it' - but I would agree that
PPC will make a fool out of you if you're not careful.
