the main traffic I deal with is found in Los Angeles.but seriously the most effective traffic I have found is the traffic that comes from reaching out to people directly, which can be done in person or on Facebook and many other ways.

Of course if you can get listed on the first page of Google with the right key words you will get a TON of free traffic.

I use a mixture of strategies.

    Free - YouTube, Facebook, Forum
Paid - Google, Facebook, Solo ads

Paid advertising is my favorite method as you can literally send targeted traffic to a high converting offer ... works real sweet

    ALL the traffic sources.

Seriously. Why limit yourself to a single traffic source?

I'm on forums (mostly non-im), social media, classifieds, blog networks.

When I spend money on traffic, it's usually short ads (I guess some would call them Solo's, but mine have actual content in them, and I usually send groups of 3). I have also done a few PPC campaigns through Adwords, Bing, and Facebook.

My traffic is 100% Free. Yes, I have paid traffic sources, but the money to pay for them comes from previous sales in the funnel I am sending traffic to. No sense sending traffic to a funnel that can't convert.

Ive heard a few people call it a secret, but it's really not. If you spend $100 on traffic, and it converts to $300 in profits. How much did the traffic actually cost? Think about it.

The best traffic sources are the traffic sources you become consistent at until you start to see results. If you are spending money on traffic and your funnel doesn't convert then you'll burn out quick. However if your funnel converts, and you know you get paid every time from your efforts paid traffic is a smart idea. If you want consistent traffic you must learn how to diversify your traffic sources many tasks can be outsourced. I'm a fan of both free and paid traffic. Free traffic is good for long term results but it takes time, paid is good when you need it on demand.

For isntance, through social media marketing, viral marketing, forums, e-mail, google+, reddit and so on and so forth!

yes but how are you tracking this? its not turned out very well in the past. I mean you are sticking random stuff on random cars.

That is like advertising DOG PRODUCTS in a CAT NEWSLETTER, i mean, your conversions are going to be very very low. You might get one or two, but with marketing you have to target the right people with the right offers. Just saying.

I'm a huge fan of diversification. Never put all of your eggs in one basket.

That being said, these are my main traffic sources:
    • Blog Commenting - incredibly effective as a traffic generation and networking tool
    • YouTube - free targeted traffic. Not only do I use my own videos, I reach out to other YouTubers and network with them as well.
    • Forum Posting - incredibly effective in many of the niches I'm working in.
    • Facebook Ads - cheap targeted traffic to my squeeze page. The leads pay for themselves.
    • Google+ brings the most traffic to me in terms of social networks.

There are a few others but those are the main ones. I recommend checking out this thread:

Forums and blog commenting are very effective at traffic generation as they rely on relationship building, where you establish yourself as a niche expert and help others. Most people are online to get help in one way or another, so if you can provide that, via answers to questions or other useful information then they are more likely to trust you and turn to you for more answers/products/services as needed.

My fave free traffic sources are YouTube and forum posts.

YouTube is great for most niches/markets and it's a passive traffic source; you make a short 2 to 3 minute video addressing a topic related to your target market and simply give a call-to-action where you direct the viewer to visit a link in the description below your video.

The link should be to a related offer and ideally it should be to an opt-in bribe for the viewer to join your list (though you can link to an affiliate offer, you'll just make way less money in the long-run so it's not advisable). Now you have a video working day-in, day-out to send viewers to your website.

Forum posts are another great way to drive traffic to your website/squeeze page, just genuinely try to answer people's questions and have a link to your site in your signature. Of course, your signature should be compelling enough so that people want to click through.

I've used both YouTube and forum posts in non-IM niches and they work fairly well, they cost you time however, reminding us that there is no such thing as truly "free" traffic.

I also get a bit of free traffic from Google by blogging but Google is hardly a traffic source you want to depend on solely.

The only paid traffic source I can honestly say I've personally used is solo ads but that was when I was trying to make money with a Biz Opp offer. Since then I've stayed away from that sort of thing and I'm currently focusing on non-IM niches.

However, solo ads are one of the most popular paid traffic sources for IM/MMO offers. I recommend you check out Igor Kheifets, just Google him.

Another good paid traffic source is Facebook PPC, you can get pretty targeted traffic at a fairly low cost per click. Bing ads are supposedly another great alternative.

On a last note, I've also seen a lot of posts by a member of this forum called Alexa Smith, and she recommends article marketing.

Which traffic source you will use depends mainly from your niche. If your target is someone that don't use Facebook , doing Facebook ad is setting money on fire. You should split a budget and your time on different traffic source, then work on them consistently and after the first week analyze which one drive more valuable traffic with less effort. This is the only way to udnerstand which traffic source is better for you.

You should know how to setup a good analytics measuring system on your blog in order to do that, I have a couple of good article on it on my website, feel free to check them out in my signature.

I focus primarily on paid traffic from Facebook. I'm paying anywhere from $0.01 per click all the way up to $0.50 per click, depending on the interests I'm targeting and how engaged the group I'm targeting is.

I also get a good boost of traffic every time I send out a message to my e-mail group.

It depends on the types of offers. For free traffic I go with Craigslist, Yahoo Answers is also an understated source of traffic.

For paid traffic I go with Facebook ads, although recently their prices for ads have risen quite a bit, I guess since more and more people are trying to advertise.

This month I have been focusing on Pay-Per-Click advertising mostly...through Facebook as well as Microsoft (Bing/Yahoo sponsored search).

What I am learning is that Facebook is super expensive and not very targeted, plus is getting more competitive by the month.

With Bing and Yahoo ppc ads, the main hurdle I'm facing here is low search volume. I'm having to broaden all my searched as much as possible and STILL find it difficult to reach respectable search volume.

Hi..Lots of great ideas here but consider...Free Traffic with

Yahoo Answers and other similar Q & A websites have become increasingly popular for finding answers to every type of question in every niche.

Whether you are specializing in online marketing, health, dating... there will ALWAYS be questions that need answers.
Best of all, Google LOVES these sites. They rank high in Google's results.
If you answer enough questions on Yahoo! answers,
you could generate A LOT of free traffic to your opt-in page.

And that traffic could keep coming for YEARS.
    1. Give great answers. Over deliver!
    2. Answer lots of questions.
    3. Make the link to your opt-in flow naturally into your answer.
The key is to communicate value. Say something to the effect of "There's a lot more to this, but no space to go into it here. I've written a 25-page free report on this topic," rather than "Hey, come sign up for my list!" This gives people the opportunity to learn more about you and opt into your list organically.

Even though you can still answer with a signature, just posting your opt-in URL at the bottom of your answer may make you look spammy. So use the entire signature.

I personally do not go for paid traffic. my blog is generating around 2000 visitors per day via search engines. My graphic design site generates 500 visitors per day.

Majority of my income comes from logo and graphic designing. Around $1500- $2000 per month. Then I need to pay salary to my 2 employees from that amount.

From my blog I earn around $500 ( sponsored post), other income comes in form of hosting affiliate sign ups for which I have tried to generate around $1500 for this month

Via cashle, I get $10 automatically , I had joined long back and have referred more than 200 people

I occasionally get paid via post loop (same referral points)
