You haven't said a thing about keyword research. Are you researching the keywords you are using to target people to your site? What kind of competition are you up against? Do you know? If you do not do keyword research before posting your articles and info, you are never going to get any traffic to your site/blog.

Okay, you've got all the stuff set up so people can see your blog's stuff easily and conveniently! Great!

Now... um... where are the people?

Do you have a lot of Twitter followers? If not, are you building your follower list daily? How much? What are you doing to accomplish that?

Do you have a lot of friends on Facebook? If not, are you building your friends list daily? How much? What are you doing to accomplish that?

Do you read other blogs? Are they blogs like yours? Do you comment on those blogs? Do you have a link to your own blog when you comment?

Do you personally know people with blogs? Have they been told about your blog? Will they post a link to your blog? Have you asked?

You've dealt quite excellently with all the technology. Now go deal with the people.

I love how you have said "I just don't know the basics, like getting people to the site"... that is not the basics, that is the hard stuff. You could train a monkey to build a blog. Pay a copywriter a bit of money and you can sell stuff to people (if you have the people)... getting the traffic is not basics... that is the advanced stuff.

There are heaps of ways, but I will put a couple here for you.

1) Submit articles to article directories. Make them useful and interesting things that people will actually want to read. At the bottom of the article you put a little 2 line bio on yourself and/or your blog. If people enjoy your article, some will click the link to your blog to find out more
2) PPC traffic, like adwords
3) Joint Ventures. Approach people in your niche, and tell them you will pay them X% of sales if they direct people to your site. Just make sure you look at it from their point of view when contacting them. Make it dead easy for them... and it should be tested and profitable
4) Ad swap. If you have a list at all, you can find other people with the same size list, and swap promotions (similar to above). 1 great place to do this is here on the Warrior forum, in the JV section
5) eZine advertising. Just google your niche and eZine (for example, if you are in golf, google "golf ezine"), and you will find loads of eZines out there about golf. These are pretty cheap to advertise in.
6) Banner advertising. There are heaps of sites out there that will either charge you a flat fee per month, a pay per click, or a pay per view for a banner on thier site. This is another good option.
7) From reading your post, it looks like you have started to touch on SEO, but maybe a little more is required
8) Post a video on YouTube. Make it something people want to watch, not just a pitch. Include your URL in the video.
9) "Bribe" any visitors you do have to refer thier friends. Find or make something cool to give them.
10) Traffic exchanges... there are sites out there that are "you look at my site and I will look at yours" type deal... where the more sites you visit, the more visits you will get. These are usually free
11) Safelists. This is where you agree to receive advertising emails from other people, and you can send them yourself. Again, usually free.
12) Build a twitter following (basically, follow as many people as you can, and hope they follow you back), then use that to direct traffic to your site
13) Post helpful posts on forums, and have a link to your blog in your signature (just check that this is allowed on the forum)
