Advise to a Newbie

Hi senior and expert fellows,

I know a lot of experts here hate newbie questions but at the same time this is THE place to ask questions from you experts. So I try my luck and appreciate your honest replies and ideas which can make my road much shorter and fruitful. Basically, I'm going to start my online marketing as a source of extra income. I'm planning to spend around 1 hour a day on that for the next 12 months. I have few questions:

1- How much realistically you can expect as yearly income or average monthly income with this effort?
2- What are the best resources to start with (books, videos, tutorials, ...)
3- What are the best channels to explore more and invest more on?

    While I do not consider myself an 'expert" I do have a few suggestions. First off please note that your questions are rather vague and without specific details they are hard to answer.

    I do commend you for making your way to this forum as it is very useful and do not think that people dislike newbies here. There are many helpful people.

    My best suggestion is to start using the search feature on this site and do lots of research. There is a lot to learn about IM and reading and researching on this site will certainly help. Also do not let yourself get pulled to many different directions. Develop a specific business model and stay focused on it.

    Internet marketing is mainly about targeted traffic and if you have that in a profitable niche, you will make money. To generate targeted traffic, try Youtube. There are several products on Youtube marketing here.

    Ok what I ALWAYS recommend to newbies is to invest in a Coaching Program. Trust me, it will probably be the best/most important thing you do as a newbie online.

    A one-on-one mentor will work with you every step of the way and help you create your online business with you.

    Investing in a coaching program will save you tons of money, and you will get a return on investment by the end of the coaching (if you choose the right one). But be careful, there are a lot of marketers out there with coaching programs that are crap.

    If you want some suggestions on which coaching programs to join, let me know

        It depends on what skills you have and do you know which business model that you wish to go after?

        After you have decided which business model, then you will go after that specific coach that is expertise in that area

    You can start at (1) hour per day but keep in mind that your results will directly be influenced by 'exactly' what amount of time, effort and money you are willing to invest in yourself and business plan.

    1- Not enough data to give you an answer on such a vague question.
    2- Still, too hard to answer your question. What are your interests?
    3- Still too hard to answer.

    There is no 'one' niche that fits everyone.

    But what ever you decide to do, make sure you don't overwhelm yourself and do this one thing...

    Keep it simple!

    It all depends on you and what you are selling or offering and how much effort you put into the process. Also, what's working for one person won't work for another as usually no two people just copy each other exactly on promotion methods. So one person could be earning well with Clickbank affiliate products and another might fail as they're not using the right promotion methods.

    I suggest that you start with building relationships with people in the specific niche that you are trying to make an income from. Whether this be from email marketing, free courses, a blog etc.

    The main ingredient to becoming successful in this field is to create solid relationships with individuals that you can help. That is it.

    As for your questions, let me revert it back to you...

    1. Do you think you can build a relationship in an hour?
    2. Do you like writing, videos, emails, skype? What interests you?
    3. What avenues are you suggesting?

      Thanks for your awesome replies. I have two ideas to focus on:

      1- Selling a web application/software/app (I need to develop it of course)
      2- Marketing and reselling popular products for commission (affiliate kind of IM)

      Most of you mentioned business models. How and where from you learned and explored different business models and how did you set yours. Based on what I got here my first step will be my business model.

      So any idea regarding that will be very much appreciated.

      P.S. my interests are mainly on marketing and reselling products, pay per click and ad networks ...
