Is there a beginners thread for complete newbies to Internet Marketing?

Hi guys,

I'm a marketer by trade, but have sort of been sucked into the world of Internet Marketing as a few of my clients seem to rant and rave about how much they've earned this week via their internet marketing schemes.

So I was wondering if there is a guide for newbies on Internet Marketing right here on Warrior Forum. I've searched, but haven't found a full and comprehensive guide.

Thanks in advance guys!

There are no entire threads that can act as a great guide. IM is too multifaceted. I'd suggest plonking terms into search and filtering for views. You'll begin to get a good overview and learn how to target specific areas for more in-depth research.

Internet marketing is too broad on its own, so a single thread will never do justice to it. You will have to research through search engines and then decide what department you would like more information about. There is digital product marketing, physical products, affiliate marketing, CPA, PPD, etc.

First off, making money online is not a scheme. It's just basically about providing a service or content to people via the internet. There's no "easy" or "magic" button to do this, and there are a handful of ways in which you can do it. For example, you can making money as a niche blogger (someone who creates a blog or site in a particular niche like toys, cooking, dating, and so on -- with said site containing product reviews and articles about stuff going on in their niche), a ghostwriter (someone who does research and writes content for other marketers), make money with mobile marketing or by publishing on Kindle or having a Private Label Rights store and such.

You basically have to just explore all of your options, and figure out what you like to do in order to earn money. For instance, I'm a niche blogger. Right now, I'm working in the dating and make money online niches. I like being a niche blogger because of the residual aspect to it (b/c of the search engines) and because I'm able to work at my own pace and around my own schedule (don't do well with deadlines). I'm personally not a fan of being a ghostwriter or publishing on Kindle because I don't consider myself a writer. I consider writing something I have to do in order to make money.

However, I've noticed that people who consider themselves writers (are actually passionate about it and enjoy doing it) like being ghostwriters, publishing on Kindle or having their own PLR store, so if you like writing, you might want to start there. Each business model has its advantages and disadvantages.

    Good luck,
    Joey

Then what's the confusion? The Internet is simply an advertising platform.
