Is it possible to create your own eBook cover, and then have it directly lead to Amazon when clicked

I'm sure there's probably a simple solution to this...but I don't like the way that Amazon's affiliate links look...the "image only" or the "text and image" or the "text only" are all not what I'm looking for.

Basically, I'm looking to sell other people's books from my site that are on Amazon (I'm going to be selling as an affiliate obviously).

I want to take their 2D cover from Amazon, and "save image as" to my computer.

I then want to make a nice 3D cover for the book using Myecovermaker.com.

I then want to post my newly made 3D cover to my website.

I then want to have it so that my 3D cover leads to the Amazon sales page when clicked...and this is the part that I'm not sure how to do.

Does anyone know how to do this?

      I would be surprised to find that you have the rights under the copyright rules to modify an image that was posted by an author on Amazon. You might, but it would definitely be worth finding out before you did it.

        Thanks guys....the only thing is that the actual "link" is not just a regular link (like a clickbank hoplink for instance). It's like a script or something, therefore it doesn't quite work like a regular link...

        And I'm not going to be altering any images. I'm just gonna take the 2D image that's already there and convert it to a 3D looking "book".

          Altering images includes changing them in any way. You might have the rights to do this, I don't know for sure. Its just that based on previous experience with using images that belong to other people, especially when they are in flat format - like jpgs or pngs - as an affiliate you usually do not have any rights to change the images in any way.

          Then you are altering it. Maybe you consider it in a good way, or a minor way, but if you change it in any way at all, you're altering it.

    Find the text link for it then look at the html code eg:
    copy the first line of code in quotes" starting at http:// and ending with quotes again" don't copy the quotes - just what is in between ..it should contain your affiliate id as well. The rest of the code is for the image or text which you don't want.

    It will be copyright infringement, and probably against amazon's tos to modify an image without permission. it would also arguably be deceptive and/or misleading.

    Quite aside from that, the customer will be confused when they click on your image and arrive at a different looking product page. I think this will decrease rather than increase your conversions.
