Coming back after a couple months of very few e-book sales

I wrote an e-book about using WordPress to make websites. I charged $9.99 for it and primarily used affiliates. I put it up on affiliate calendars and Jvzoo.

Now would like to try something new. I'm interested in putting my 24 pages of content spread across a website.

I'm looking for ways to monetize that website. Any ideas would be very well received.

Would it be okay to change strategies? I feel like my affiliates wouldn't care at all because none are actively promoting it - only one made any sales. I can keep the book site up in case someone wants it in PDF which is easier to read it.

I'm most interested in niche selection and like talking to people about it. I also like finding out about new apps and tools for business. I'm fairly bad at promoting content but enjoy creating.

Thanks for any ideas.

I think as long as you continue to get the quality traffic and conversions, it would be ok with the affiliates you are working with. Good luck and hope this becomes more profitable for you.

I think you are free to sue content you wrote in any way that works for you. There are people who do this the other way around - write on their sites and then make an ebook out of their articles. No reason I can think of that you couldn't do it the way you are proposing.

There are lots of paid things you could promote on your site. hosting, domain registration, paid themes, paid plugins, autoresponders, additional WP tutorials, graphics bundles or creators or even choose a niche to rewrite your work about and sell products related to that niche.

Sounds like you have a good base on which to begin.

Can't really add much to what Michael said above. It's your content, and you can do what you want with it. If your affiliates aren't promoting it much, they've probably lost interest, or the book is just not selling very well.

If you can spread the book across several webpages, drive traffic to it, and can monetize it with other products (yours or affiliates) or with adverts like Adsense or Skimlinks, you may have a winning strategy. Of course you could still offer the complete ebook on your site as well, as some may prefer to get all the info in one package rather than reading across numerous pages on your website.

Good job on deciding not to give up. It's going to take work, but it will be worth it.

Here are my tips that I feel will help you out and take your business to the next level.

1.) Understand your niche in and out and if there and if it is demanding solutions.
2.) Create a free gift such as : Free Report, Video Series, anything else that holds value.
3.) Build your list by participating in areas where your niche hangs out ex: Forums , Blogs, Videos
4.) Offer helpful tips to your audience, and from their provide solutions to them
5.) Continue to market everyday until you have a decent sized list

Follow those simple steps and you can create a business selling whatever you want to sell from Affiliate Products to your own products. Understand your niche, and provide them solutions, if you can do that you do just fine.

Why not take your book and publish it on Amazon?

I just did the research and Wordpress looks to be a very hot niche on the Kindle store right now.

I wrote and published my first book a month ago and the sales have really picked up. It's also a really good way to get leads.
