I'm steadily building up my listeners and subscribers on youtube and internet radio. I'm looking on tips to promote my vids to get more plays.
I have the SEO down fairly well with titles and keywords
I post my YT links in comments on related YT vids
I post links in IMDB forums and craiigslist.

Where else and how else can I promote these vids? I currently post 2 new vids a week. If I can just get 10Xs the views I get now I can live off this income.

Some additional info:

My YT channel is 1 year old.
I have 2000 subscribers
!00k views.
I get about 325 views a day
I post 2 vids a week now. a 2 hour show and a 2 hour after show.

Stay consistent with your video uploading. That is how you get traction.

Also, focus on SEO-optimizing your video details. Sprinkle your target keyword a couple of times in your description, once or twice in your title, and a couple of times in your tags.

Send backlinks and social proof to your videos for them to rank better.

Thanks, I think I have the rankings like 75% cool. Like if you search for Jim Jones Peoples temple, I hit on front page. all those vids get huge traffic. Also like West Memphis Three Terry Hobbs. I get 32k hits on that.

But how and where can I promote the vids? I think my seo is good. I'm afraid to post too much content that not up to quality and lose listenners.

What do you think about buying subs on fiver? Crap or value?

    Crap.

Why do people try driving traffic to a site that is used to generate traffic? I can't get my mind around that. Would you buy a banner at the top of the forum and then drive traffic to it?

I'm driving traffic to my youtube for adsense revenue and the ads I read during the show.
So my question is, if I buy subs do any of those subs actually play the shows??

I think your videos are way too long for youtube
    a 1 hour show?
very few people go on youtube to watch 1 hour shows
shows on youtube are a maximum of 10 minutes if you're very entertaining...

It's a 2 hour internet radio show and a second 2 hour aftershow.
it has a very good following on radio. I'm on 15 stations and iHeart.

So the people looking for the show have no trouble listening for the 4 hours.
I'm trying to get NEW people to come find the videos. Once the people in my niche find the show they really like it.

There are others in my broader niche that get 10k views on vids everyday, same length.

    First off, make more videos.

Don't forget to keep them at the same quality or better they are at now, but try putting out one more video a week, or an extra video every other week if you can't handle 3 a week. This will bring in some more views for sure.

      I know Markets

But the amount of research and time that goes into booking and interviewing one or two guests a week on Fridays is already alot.

But I suppose you're right I need to at least add another show a month and then try to add from there .

But what about the shows I have now? Where can I promote them to get more views? I use all the shares on the youtube share thing, I post links on facebook, IMDB, Craigslist. I can add topix and back page if yu think its worth it .

Just want to throw this in too. As far as monitization I also promote Audible.com but have not made a cent yet. I have some sponsors that pay me to read ads. But are there any other ways to monetize besides that and of course adsense?

Oh I also have a blog with adsense and if I have a guest on that's an author I send the listeners to the blog with an amazon link.

If I can just get 10 Xs the views I'm cool. So whats the math on that? A year from now is it just double or is there a formula on how fast it grows?

Take your long videos and cut them into Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, etc., keeping your long version too.

Edit them by topic and length, optimizing them using varied keywords. You should be able to get at least 6-10 more videos from a single 1-2 hour video. Not only will you have 6-10 times more videos, each being able to get viewers on their own, you'll also be doing your viewers a favor.

Add links to all the other videos in your descriptions and also use annotations, creating an internal link silo on YT for your videos.

Make sure each video has an annotation to subscribe to your channel. Consider using annotations on "weaker" videos to funnel traffic to your money video(s).

Add all the shorter videos into a playlist.

Instead of having a single 2-hour video, you now have 10 shorter videos + your long "all in one" + your playlist, all able to rank and get traffic into your funnel on their own.

    Here's some basic examples:

Baking Cake with Kurt - Great cake for weight lost <= Original, entire video.
Baking Cake with Kurt #1 - Picking all natural ingredients
Baking Cake with Kurt #2 - The best mixers for baking cakes
Baking Cake with Kurt #3 - Decorating the perfect wedding cake

You should be able to see how each can exploit different keywords in their titles, descriptions and tags.

      This is solid advice.

What you can do as a first step is creating segments (with catchy descriptions) of your current 1 hour-videos in the description (linking to specific times) so viewers can instantly view the good parts.

Youtube works great with social media.

You can get a lot of traffics from social media (fb, twitter) if you know how to do it.

I'm not very experience with this, but you can consider:

    1. Create content that will attracts people to share
    - content that is funny, secret, tips, how-to-dos, breaking news easily get shared - however it depends on what type of video you're creating

    2. Post the link in your fb/twitter/google plus
    - after you post your video on youtube, it is best if you share it with people close to you.
    - ask them to share the video if they liked it.

    3. use reddit
    - some people get massive hits from reddit alone (if done right)

    4. viral marketing

Extra : fresh and up-to-date content would be great for youtube videos, you can use google alert or google trends to find what is up right now.

Hope this helps, let me know what you thinks

That is the best advice in this whole thread for driving more views to your content. If you know how to use it Facebook is the best way to drive traffic o Youtube.

Yes this is good solid advice. I hope I can post on here next year announcing I'm making a full time living from this.

I'm a little nervous about cutting up the current videos but I'm going to run a test and see the audience reaction. You have to understand that in radio the audience really builds an intimate relationship with the host and they're easily offended.

But right off the bat I'm going to add a second video each week that going to be a preview of the upcoming live guest and talk about the next show.
I'm sure that will get a few hundred views during the week just from blog visitors and facebook friends.
I'm also going to focus of reddit more.

I'll run some tests the next few months, half shows2 hours and some broken up into hours. See what that does.

Lets see , adding that Subscribe button sounds great too.

    Thanks Merry Christmas.

If you have any more ideas or you think I missed a good suggestion please keep the info coming. I really need this income.
