Squidoo adding their own links in the content

I've tried searching and can't find anything here about this.

I just noticed yesterday that Squidoo is adding links to my content on my lenses.

I don't remember seeing this before, is it something new?

I haven't used squidoo, but I've always assumed they did this already.

I could be wrong, but I thought that they just put there ads on the right panel.

I've only just started using them, mostly to create links to my own websites.

Are you referring to the new Infolinks feature? (Those are the green links that open up a little window when you hover.)

According to this post on SquidU, as a lensmaster you can opt in or out of these both globally and on a lens-by-lens basis. This was implemented just a few days ago.

      I hope this helps.

        Yep, that's them.

Thank you. I guess I should spend less time writing and submitting content and more reading all the new rules these site come with.

It will do no harm to go and read their forum about once a fortnight. However you can opt opt out of those info links, but as you rightly say you can't opt out if you do not know they are there

It's quite a shrewd move by Squidoo when you consider so many lenses that are abandoned as quickly as they are created! They have a solid base of inactive lenses that they can profit off of while at the same time appease the acitve lensmasters by offering the opt-out option.
