How to best monetize large newsletter list?

I handle seo for a large number of auto parts dealers and have been given the option to take over the newsletter side of the business. It's setup currently to go out once a month to about 9.6 million subscribers and most of the content is parts on sale related to dealers in the local market of the subscriber. I am trying to think of different ways to monetize it. Currently the only financial benefit of the service is to the local dealer to sell more. If anyone has any experience on how to best monetize this please let me know?.

9.6 million subscribers in a local market? Wow.. Well if they are all "opt in" subscribers, and you know exactly what they are looking for, you already got the part right about sending them quality tips. If you are sure they are all local , than you can share helpful tips and refer them to somewhere nearby locally, if not you can recommend digital products to them related in their niche. I'm not too sure how hungry the niche you're in, so there is no promise to your success. It's a good thing to trim some of those email addresses down if they are unresponsive that way you can decrease your bounce rate, also it's a good idea to make sure they all opted in and the list wasn't purchased that way you won't get spam complaints. Having a list of emails is just one aspect of successful marketing.

I would convince the owner into allowing me to run a "4-Day Cash Machine" or some kind of sell promotion to bring in a quick rush of cash for the business.

After that, I'd also discuss the possibility of mailing the list at least twice per month, then slowly work up to once per week.

You could also rent the list to other people... or make "solo ads" available to people in that local niche market for an additional revenue stream.

Sorry, that number is the total subscribers from all the dealers, each serving a local market. Covers most of the United States.

You could write a book called 101 ways to take the stress out of drivingt in traffic, commutes and around jerks! Or The Top 50 Ways To Add Another 100,000 Mile To The Life Of Your Car.

You publish on Amazon for credibility. You email your list a promotion on the book and make #1 in that category on Amazon making a bunch more money for being #1.

You start an auto parts buyers club where they pay $89 per year to get the super discounts and an auto mechanic tip of the day emailed to them. Kind of like Amazon Prime membership.

Or You start a membership site and give them tons of tips, discounts and reports on how to themes all for $5 per month.

There are a bazillion ways to monetize it.

Are you currently selling advertising space and reviews in the email newsletter? If not, that's one option for monetizing the list.

Start with sending out a smaller newsletter once a week, and emails in between that. Segregate your subscriber list if possible by geographical region.

In the emails offer tips on fixing cars for free and low cost by buying parts and supplies from the auto shops.

Make a series of videos showing people how best to maintain their cars using the parts and supplies from the auto parts dealers, then duplicate them, upload them to Youtube channels you have created that cover each major local market.

If you cover that many markets, then the weather conditions are going to be different in them. Weatherization tips are enormously varied in parts of the US. Knowing your battery has half the sated shelf if you live in the desert Southwest, or why its important to buy the correct multi weight oil in Minnesota are huge ways to be able segregate your market and increase sales by multiples instead of fractions.
