Will My Service Attract Affiliates?

Hey guys,

I've been lurking aroud Warrior Forum for quite some time but finally decided to jump on and start interacting.

I have a quick question. I am in the process of starting a service based business and I would like to offer an affiliates section. I'm not too knowledgeable about affiliates and what makes for a good program so I was wondering if I can get some advice. My site is pixelguard.co and I offer WordPress website support and hosting.

As far as my plans for affiliates go, I was thinking about offering $50 per sale and the $50 would be paid after the customer has been signed up for two months.

Any thoughts on my product and affiliate plans would be very welcome, thanks!

it certainly helps if you have a proven product that others are using and they liked it so much that they want to become an affiliate. It is a little bit harder of a cell if there is not a clear indication that you are already doing well. From the perspective of a site owner, they probably would not want to waste space on advertising something they are unsure would sell.

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

If you can get some consistency and show examples of your average conversions, EPC's etc, then they will most likely have more of an interest (the more serious ones anyway).

Hustle and get some clients on board first, and also get their feedback. Genuine affiliates are not going to want to spend their time and money promising something, if it's only going to have a poor refund rate etc. If you can prove it's business model, then consider scaling.

You may also want to do some work and get in touch with some JV managers. Then get some advice on suitable commissions. For a monthly service, I'd expect recurring / residual commissions but that's down to you I guess.

Does is have the benefits that tend to attract affiliates?

High-converting offer, hefty price tags / payout, possible tools for promotion, and so on and so forth.

You can also have the greatest offer in the world...

But it won't do well if you don't get affiliates...

So be sure to be on the hunt, along with naturally attracting affiliates.

Make it work for you. Then worry about making it work for other people.

Hey, nice product I don't think you'll have any issues getting affiliates on board. I have a few WordPress plugins I sell and would definitely use a service like yours. I could even see cross-promoting it so there must be plenty of others out there who would do the same.

I also agree with some of the above posters, don't worry about what others do, just get it setup so it works for you and you should do ok.

Finally, the best people to ask are your actual customers. Would they recommend it to others and would they like to be paid for the recommendation? If they would, then you are onto a winner.

It would be a good idea to have your domain name go to .com and not .co. Looks more recognizable.

Then what you want to do is to get the first 10-50 sales yourself to see the conversions. Then tell your potential affiliates your conversion rates.
