What do you all use to keep track.....

INTERNET MARKETING

So I know that writing pw and username and important stuff on a note book is obsolete because in worse case scenario, you might loose all your important information, at once. I was wondering if any of you use any program on IOS, Window to keep secure information (incase you forget) to store information and notes. Because, IM is very complex and I'm pretty sure that all of you have multiple username/pw/and site to remember but tends to forget.

Anyway, I am tired of writing every username and pw and information on my note book and some of these I will have to cross out in case they get deleted.

I was wondering if there is any software available to store important information.

Also, which email website is safe and secure for long term use?

I have been using gmail for the past couple of years and will be switching away, soon (I don't know how to migrate important email from gmail, though)

Also, I'm thinking about getting external hard drive for my macbook since I will be moving quite a lot in the coming years and I don't own personal desk top computer.

Given with my situation, what is the best advice/tip you guys/gal can give me from your experience.

Have you considered using something like LastPass (Google chrome extension)? Also, you might consider keeping a password protected spreadsheet of all this info. Just don't ever forget your master password to get into it! I also always bookmark important sites and put them in relevant bookmark folders so that I don't have to remember all the important sites I need.

Been using Roboform for years, it really gets the job done and you learn to use it in about 5 minutes.

  As an alternative; you could make a personal algorithm to remember passwords.
  
  For example, if the website domain is abc.com you could use a password like 'bcd' or 'cba'.
  
  Or you could make it a bit more difficult by adding a number in front of it that counts the characters in the domain name. abc = 3 characters. Your password now becomes 3bcd.
  
  If you must add capitals or odd characters you could, for example, add your initals followed by an exclamation mark. John Doe = JD!
  Your password now becomes 3bcdJD!
  
  Use your imagination to make up your personal algorithm.
  
  You will only need to remember your one algorithm to be able to 'remember' passwords for thousands of websites.

I use lastpass for all important forum password.

For banks and paypal , i never like to use lastpass or any other kind of password protected stuff.I member them and for safety purpose , i stored them in excel.

For bookmarks , i use evernote.It has chrome extension just like lastpass and it is really useful.

I use a great software called "RoboForm". They update their software almost every month. It works IE, Firefox, Chrome (dont know about others). I don't store super personal information on it (credit cards, SSN, etc)... but for stuff like WarriorForum username & password... it's a one-click submit and i'm instantly logged-in. You should check it out.

  LastPass rocks. But not using it for paypal or bank. Also I got all passwords saved on a spreadsheet on a memory stick so that the NSA cannot take it from my computer.

Roboform is great. But I no longer use it. Instead, I use a spreadsheet and this solution works fine for me. Have been using this 'system' for 3 years now. :-)

I use Firefox sync for all my bookmarks and pass for sites and forums. No privet banking stuff. So everytime you need to use different computer with FF just open it and login to sync accoint so you will have your brawser look and wor the same as on your machine.

+1 for lastpass. I will also advice you look at CherryTree and Treepad for Mac and Linux, both are free and simple software for saving text data with password protection too.
