Here are some straightforward and effective ways to drive traffic to your Youtube videos:

1. Video Tags -- Look for popular Youtube videos, trending YouTube videos and Youtube videos with a lot of views, specifically those that are directly and laterally relevant to your Youtube video. Take note of the tags of those popular, trending and heavily viewed Youtube videos. Use those tags for your Youtube video. This increases the chances of your Youtube video to appear in the related videos sidebar of those popular, trending and heavily viewed Youtube videos;

2. Submit and Syndicate Your Videos in Heavily Trafficked Repositories -- There are popular online places that accept video submissions and provide video syndication / embedding oppurtunities, and these places may have categories that match the niches of your videos. For example, there are popular places where you can submit tutorials / guides and so on for certain niches. Look for them; and

3. Reach Out -- Look for popular blogs / sites / social networks that are directly and laterally relevant to the niches of your Youtube videos. Participate in related discussions on those heavily trafficked online places, though your objective shouldn't be to drop links pointing to your videos, but rather:

• Your purpose should be to establish your reputation in those online places as a helpful niche expert; and

• In time, you can contact the owners / Webmasters of those online places so as to ask for possible guest posting arrangements among other mutually beneficial oppurtunities, and they may be more receptive to your offers since you'd by then be a familiar and helpful participant in their blogs / sites / social networks...

the things you've listed are important - right, but you can also do some other things too to get more visitors to your videos...

1. You Videos need to attract the attention of the visitor
2. I would look out for competitive videos and then i would create a similar one (Not Copy these)
3. I would use Social Media to get strong Backlinks
4. Use Bookmarking Sites to share your video with the www
5. Go to fiverr and look for video syndication gigs to spread your video on different platforms

There are a lot of more things you could do...but first i would stick these ones...

If you are talking whitehat promotion, try embedding your video, sharing it on FB sites or use Adwords for video.

Read up on Youtube SEO. Correctly & accurately titling and tagging your videos is key. Longer videos tend to do better as well. A large contributing factor as to whether your video will appear high in Youtube search is based off of retention time.

The more accurate your video is to its tagging, title, and description, the longer people will stay to watch and the higher it will appear in search.

Their is common line for me is sharing is best to get best results and I do share my videos on social websites where I am very active so whenever I share a video many friends and follower just start visiting it. I also share on many forums and other platforms as more you reach more traffic you'll build.

First - make sure your SEO is the best it can be. Keywords in title, description etc. Start promoting your video on social media. Facebook groups is still good. Find a group closely related to the video topic and post value in there. Social bookmarking is vital for SEO and I would recommend doing it manually over time. Stumbleupon, Digg there's many out there with very high PR! Learn from here and on Youtube & Google as much as you can. Master the skill & you have a skill for life. Hope this helps!
