Hi,

I have been writing article and will be soon creating web 2.0 properties (weeby, squidoo, hubpages, wordpress).. I'll be putting my website link in the article. Do I also need to back link it social bookmarking sites (socail adr, onlywire) or wiki sites. After that do I also need to ping those sites on pingler, pingomatic to get traffic???? Which are the best ways please suggest??

Squidoo doesn't exist any more, after what Google did to it (and there may be a lesson there about the overall "value" of Web 2.0 sites, too ).

It's easy to imagine that you're getting traffic from Web 2.0 sites when in fact what's really happening is that you're arranging for some traffic which would otherwise have gone straight to your own website to go to Web 2.0 sites instead, and when that happens you'll simply lose a proportion of it which you could otherwise have kept. Appearances can be deceptive.

Don't imagine that because Web 2.0 sites have high traffic volume and a high-page-rank home page of their own that you'll necessarily get their traffic or any SEO benefits by having a page there yourself.

I think you may be confusing traffic-generation with potential SEO benefits, here.

Here's a post about Squidoo which may help and interest you: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post8109462 . (Yes, Squidoo itself has actually disappeared, now, and what was left of it has been absorbed by HubPages, but that doesn't matter to the points and principles made in this post, most of which apply equally to the use of other "Web 2.0 sites" as well. )

    What she said ^^

This topic has been going around on this forum for over a decade and the situation has not really changed.

Any new site or system that looks like an easy way to build an empire, get easy valuable backlinks or traffic - will be under someone else's control. Whether they let you ride it for a while as it builds up popularity and allows you to fill it with content varies to different degrees, and if you're into riding the new systems as they come with the knowledge that ultimately that value will disappear or belong to someone else that's fine - just don't think that you can ultimately create value for yourself using the systems of everyone else and not expect them at some point to take that value from you.

I personally believe having other people share your links works better than you just bookmarking your own links.
