Where to start IM?

First of all, if you are completely brand new, take the time to educate yourself on internet marketing. It's easy to want to just think you can get started with $100 and you are set for success. Do not fall for that, there is a big learning curve, and most people fail miserably their first few years. My suggestion to you is to learn the ropes of internet marketing and the in's and out's, find a coach or a mentor or somebody that has developed experience over the years and learn from them first. It's possible for you to build a business online, just as it's possible to easily go in the wrong direction! Don't fall victim to get rich quick, or shiny object syndrome. Every SINGLE online business that is successful took work and a lot of trial and error. If you take action every single day and you are determined to make it you will succeed eventually. Work on yourself everyday, and remember to never give up !

You can invest in the tools needed to start building your list for less than $100.

You will start to approach the $100 quickly, but you can get started without hitting $100.

Invest in the auto responder system of your choice, the capture page system of your choice, and buy small solo ad packages.

You will eventually spend more than $100, for sure, but it will be an investment in your future, and you will eventually recoup your time and money investment.

Learn to provide value to people.

That's the best advice I know, whether somebody is starting out or a seasoned veteran having to start over for some reason.

Concentrate on your list, regardless of whatever else you choose to try.

Search the forum for this question & spend a little while reading over the responses in them. This is probably the most common question around here & has already been answered alot of times. To start making money you only need to start with 3 things though. They are a website, autoresponder & a good product to sell. Once you have these, you can get into ways to advertise & adding content as much as possible

Keep your $100, trying to find a method/business model that works, use your money to scale that up.

Start right here. Figure out, without spending a dime, what you have a passion and abilities for then follow it through to success.

Get the Affiliate Marketer's Schoolbook by Laura Burke. You need a structured, step by step method of learning IM. I'm a teacher and I can tell you that there has rarely been a lesson book that has been laid out so well that deals with IM and affiliate marketing.

Whatever you decide, get the autoresponder and something easy to build a squeeze page with. I made the mistake of doing too much blogging, writing, and website building before I began to be serious about list building.

Copy and paste your question in the search function above. You'll get some great answers from the 100+ (i guess) posts with the same question title.

Start with a need. Find out what a large group of people need. What solution can you provide them that they would be willing to pay for?

Get a better picture of all the sub categories that fall under internet marketing. Then pick something you think you are interested and gather as much information as you can on that particular subject of IM.

Try to find out any info about your niche, learn hoe to do thinks that work, find from where you can find free methods/ebooks tutorials etc. Do not spent your money to any shiny product that you may find. Just take one step at time

Some of the advice in the thread is good, some won't do much for you.

You can learn all about affiliate marketing, but if you have no list to market to, it's pretty hard to make money that way.

That's not to say that building a list isn't important. It's one of the most important things there is in IM. But it doesn't happen overnight.

Those who advised following things you know about and are interested in, or are good at are right. You definitely want to do something that you feel comfortable doing, or even like and enjoy doing.

Matthew Trujillo gave you some very good advice.

I think the best plan of action might be to find a mentor, and there are lots of them in almost every niche. Until just recently, I didn't know this, and I spend many years and thousands of dollars looking for a way to make money, jumping from one idea to the next, always being attracted to the next shiny object that promised overnight riches. My mentor changed all that immediately. All I have to do now is follow his advice, because I know I am on the right path at long last. Good luck!

1) Start providing a service, something that you are really good at
2) Sustain and grow the service business
3) Start moving towards active selling of products as a product creator or an affiliate for long term benefits and semi passive income
4) Invest every penny you earn in your business for as long as you possibly can.

What you are doing is self educating yourself into a new career so don't expect it to happen over night without serious learning and preparation

You've got to know your skills first. What are you good at? And what will spark your creativity? But remember, you don't necessarily have to reinvent the wheel & come up with something new if you want to be successful in starting an online business. You might wanna try making money by doing something that you already do in your own spare time. Also, its better to invest the money first to get the right informations on how to get started. Heres all you need to do to make money in this business.

1.) Pick/generate a hot converting offer

2.) Drive traffic (blog, videomarketing, paid traffic....) to a squeeze page and build your list.

4.) Give value to this list, teach them what you already learn, build relationship and market to it. Share helpful tips and focus on 80% value 20% promotions.

Regarding your $100, don't use any of it until you've fully grasped the concepts that are industry standards. After that, I would recommend buying a domain, hosting, and playing around with your first website designs and take it from there.

There are different ways of making money online and building a real business. But it all comes down to your personal inclination. Like for I am more into Kindle Publishing and Selling physical products. For other people it is affiliate marketing or creating and selling their own products or selling services.

For starters and newbies, you should have a look at the popular ways to make money online and analyze them and see for yourself which suits you best and see which one you enjoy the most.

Find a concept or method that you like and stick with it. Learn to perfect that skill until you're an expert

Internet marketing. My strategy is to build a website that is optimized and search engine friendly. I then write articles and blogs about my website so it gets indexed on Google Yahoo MSN etc. (Go to Live Search msn and type in psychic ability and see who is at number 2. Me). I then link with similar sites so my site is on theirs as a link. This is called link building. The purpose of all this is so your site can get a top page rank in search engines so you get organic search traffic. Some good keywords stacked in here isn't there. Anyway this is internet marketing. The next step is something like Google Adwords and Adsense so you might want to research that. Hope this helps.

I would recommend Kindle Money Mastery Course. After 2 months I already make $200-$250/month.

English 101 is a good start.
